Taehyung was strolling towards his locker, humming a tune in the deserted corridor. As he opened the locker and grabbed his books, a familiar voice calling his name made him jump.

"Taehyung." Kai was standing so close, practically whispering in his ear. Taehyung flinched when Kai's breath touched his neck, causing the books in his hands to tumble to the floor.

"Sunbae?" With a hesitant smile, he started picking up the fallen books, trying to act casual.

He closed the locker, faced Kai, and asked, "Do you need something, Sunbae?" Despite his efforts to seem normal, he couldn't shake off the awkwardness that lingered after the party.

"I have something to tell you, Taehyung."

"Sunbae, I'm a bit busy right now. Maybe later."

Kai persisted, "Taehyung, why are you avoiding me? You said you forgave me, so why--"

"No, Sunbae. I am not avoiding you. I have no reason to. Like you said, I forgave you for that night. We are good. Don't worry about it." Taehyung assured him but Kai wasn't having any of it.

"Then have a coffee with me after Uni. It's really important."

"Uh... I already have plans Sunbae. Sorry. Some other time." Taehyung said calmly but he kept looking at the entrance worried that Jungkook would come and him, talking with Kai was not a good sight.

He didn't want Jungkook to get into fights, especially now that he was aware of their rivalry. Jungkook had warned him about not talking to Kai, that's one of the reasons why despite forgiving he couldn't go back to being normal with Kai. He knew Jungkook was not someone who'd stop him from things like these just because of his rivalry. If Jungkook warned him then it's definitely something he needs to be cautious about.

"How about tomorrow?"

"I don't know. I will let you know when I am free. I have a class now, Sunbae. I gotta go." Taehyung was getting ready to take off, but Kai quickly grabbed his wrist to stop him.

"See?! I knew you were avoiding me!!" Kai whispered urgently, his grip on Taehyung's wrist getting tighter by the second.

Taehyung's eyes widened in fear as he tried to break free. "It's nothing like that, Sunbae. Please, let go."

Kai persisted, "This is all because of that jerk Jeon, right? What did he say to you? Whatever it was, it's all lies."

"He h-has n-othing to do with this." Taehyung protested weakly.

"I know it's him. But you're silly to trust him. Do you know what kind of person he is? His sketchy reputation with guys and girls? And let's not forget the drug stuff. Trust me, there's some hidden agenda behind all that facade." Kai seethed, pulling on Taehyung's wrist even harder. His hand became pale from the force of his grip.
