In a blink of an eye, a year had already passed.

Karina had been busy going overseas for photoshoots and attending fashion events. She modeled a lot of famous brands after the dating rumor sparked between her and Eun Woo.

The fake relationship continued as both benefited from it. Eun Woo had been seeing someone in secret and Karina tried to keep her composure. As much as she wanted to end the pretend relationship with her model friend, she couldn't do anything until everything she planned would work.

The heartaches, stress and loneliness, Karina accepted it and tried her best to move on. Luckily, her line of work helped her cope up with serious anxiety and distress.

She's been living well as one of the popular figures in the fashion industry but she's still trying to survive.

She later found out about her mom falling ill when she had her grandest runway show in Milan, Italy.

Jin Hee was diagnosed with severe colon cancer. She had been experiencing symptoms and never told Karina about it.

Her daughter must have noticed her sudden weight loss but Karina thought that her mother is trying some kind of diet and of old age.

Due to her mother feeling ill, Karina halted some of the important fashion events but it didn't last because Jin Hee encouraged her daughter to do what she likes and to not be too worried about her situation.

As much as Karina wanted to protest but she knows her mother doesn't want her to pity the situation they are in. Plus, Karina needed to work hard to give Jin Hee a continuous chemotherapy session.

After securing the progress on her mother's therapy, Karina flew back to Paris to attend an important business event. She arrived in the city of love with her fake public boyfriend.

Karina's model agency convinced her to go along with this so-called pairing because she knew all eyes were on them.

The night came for the most anticipated private party at the Pavillon Dauphine in Paris, France. Many celebrities and known public figures have attended the event.

The party was organized by a wealthy French businessman and a bachelor, Louis Devereaux. The venue was grandly decorated and the ambiance was so classy.

Karina went to the event with Eun Woo wearing baby pink Prada technical voile dress paired with Prada 75mm Brushed Leather slingback pumps heels.

To complete her party style, she used the bag she loved from Prada, the Re-edition 1995 Mini Bag. It was almost like she was a pink princess.

Everyone greeted them and she had a few talks with other models and artists. The night was filled with social talks and a few drinks.

Fast forward, Karina wanted to rest but she couldn't find Eun Woo so she texted him. She decided to walk around the Pavillon while waiting for her fake boyfriend's reply.

While walking, she felt a sudden emotional rush. Looking at the bright moonlight in the starry and gloomy night.

With the milestones I achieved as a model, everyone would endlessly praise me. But was all of it even sincere? Why do I feel so empty?

Karina leaned forward on one of Pavilion's patios. She took a deep breath, closing her eyes and feeling the quiet surrounding away from the noisy hall.

As she opened her eyes, she felt like someone was staring at her. She caught a shadow figure on the corner of the patio but could not recognize who it was.
