When Karina thought that everything seemed fine. But, it did only remain as a thought.

She had a reconciliation with Jeno, got back to work and punished people who did her wrong.

Few weeks went smoothly. Jeno would take her to date, wait until she's done with her photoshoots and would spend some time on the arcades.

Aunt Min Young would often visit Karina's mom at the hospital. Jin Hee is almost done with her chemotherapy and they've been planning to have a family vacation at Maldives.

"You seem so happy right now, love." Jeno intertwined their hands as Jeno was driving the car.

They both are heading to the hospital where Jin Hee was confined.

Karina's mom had been pestering them to visit and bring some fruits she loves to eat.

"I can't wait until mom's chemotherapy is done. I know she's excited about the anticipated trip."

Huge smile was plastered on her face, gazing at the bright sky outside the car's window.

"Me too. We know how much Aunt Jin Hee suffered throughout her chemo journey. She deserves to relax once everything is done." Jeno replied. He put their intertwined hands to his lips and gave it a kiss.

Jeno was so happy as well that everything he sacrificed resulted in a better outcome.

They're almost at the hospital and Karina doesn't understand why her heart was frantically beating.

Am I too excited?

Jeno saw the change in his girlfriend's reaction. She was more tense and her palm started to sweat.

"You okay, love?" he asked.

Karina nodded but wasn't looking at him.

They both feel like every step they take is like carrying heavy blocks on their feet.

When they finally reached Jin Hee's room, that's when they understood their reaction.

"R-rina." It was her Aunt Min Young.

Her voice was shaking and her eyes bawled red.

Tears flowing down while standing at the side of the white bed.

A body was lying down at the bed, the monitors were turned off and a white satin covered a figure that Karina wanted to see.

Karina's knee grew weak so Jeno had to support her from the back.

She slowly took a step, getting nearer at the bed.

She doesn't understand how her tears would carelessly fall down. Her heart feels like being squeezed tightly that it pains her whole system.

"M-Mom?"

She carefully pulled down the white sheets and was welcomed by her mom's cold and pale face.

"N-No! Mom! " Karina shouted as she hugged the lifeless body of her mom.

She was all excited and all but it all shattered when she saw her mom.

Karina cried while saying sorry to her mom.

She knew that her mom would not hear all her sentiments but she just kept going.

She felt her aunt Min Young rubbing her back, comforting her.

Jeno was on her side, also tearing up.

Jin Hee had been Jeno's second mom and she's affectionate towards him as a little boy. She spent a lot of time with him growing up since Min Young is her best friend. Jeno grew up loving him as his second parent but when he hit puberty, he was a bit distant to her.
