Taylor
She's back to her daily, boring loop of staying at home then at Sam's. She thought of going over Victor's sometimes, but her mind thought about all kinds of things. If his parents were home, she wouldn't know how she should act, because they likely don't want a girl who's mute but she wasn't. And, if not, she could damage something she shouldn't.
She just hates going to new houses of others.
She could be able to meet him elsewhere, at her house. But Sam keeps coming over and messes her place up like when she did to him, and she's staying home all day to look after it.
Her parents would need to take their vacation break if they want to stay home, which they always saved until New Year. She was thankful at first to have the house all to herself. But after a few days on winter break, all of those people she never thought would ever come to her house did.
"So, my sister spends time going to concerts with her friends on Christmas. I'll have to stay home with my father. And, he'd rather watch soccer. So if you guys have any plans, don't be shy and tell me," Mia said, with her voice wavering when she's lying her head on Taylor's lap. They're all staying inside her house, in the living room, on her mother's favorite couch with the television turned on.
Taylor swallows her crisp. "I will stay at Sam's house."
"It's practically hers," Sam said, eyes glued to the TV. "The bookshelf down my basement was originally Tie's wish, I got no say".
They all could be high tech, catching up with thousands of new updates. But Taylor and Sam keep coming back to watch Harry Potter. If to ever choose, she preferred the movie rather than the book in this particular series. Like a classic tradition they had been keeping for years. They'd rewatch the whole thing over and over, and Taylor will never get sicken of.
"You don't celebrate Christmas at home?" Mia asked, looking up at her.
"My father's flying to New Orland for his sister's wedding. My mother's tradition didn't celebrate Christian things, though she probably went out with her friend on that day. They both know I could go over his, so the house practically mine until new year."
"Christmas isn't always religious."
"It is considered so."
"And every year's the same?" Victor asked.
"No," she replied. "My father stayed home last year. I still got gifts, we just don't have decorations."
"You didn't spend time together anyway," Sam said. "There isn't any difference without gifts."
"You considered so. I'd like to think otherwise."
"So you'll stay at Sam's house? Can I come over, I can be a help." Mia popped herself up with one hand.
"Course, or she'll make me anyway. My parents get used to having kids running around the house," Sam said, then he turns to look at Victor. "Want to come over?"
"If I'm feeling like."
Victor said without hesitating, making her wonder if he really wanted to go. Taylor spent the next few days, wandering alone in her house all while thinking about lots of thing. She tried to generates a logical and reasonable excuses as to why she should come over his house. She had been walking pass there often lately, checking if someone is home. And to clarify, her jogging session happened to be past his house, about five minutes long, so she isn't stalking anyone.
Their house has a garage, a big one beside the main door which is always closed shut, so she can only hope to find a glimpse of something shouting they aren't home, so in some possible way she'll come in and visit. With him around.
