"So…” Toby started, nervously walking downstairs alongside Mark. “You’re going to show me around here?”
“Yep! Just uh… Stay close to me and don’t get too close to anything you see. Or the glass.” Mark replied.
“The glass?”
“Yeah. This hospital isn’t only my workspace, you know.”
“It’s not?” Suddenly, a loud bang could be heard to the side. Toby jumped and turned, only to see what can only be assumed to be a horribly failed creation.
“It’s not.” Mark calmly replied.
“What. The fuck. Is that.” Toby shakily pointed to the creature behind the glass. It looks like it came straight out of an analog horror. Its eyes sunken in, its mouth hanging open wide, wide enough to fit an entire human, its neck long, its arms extended, its hands turned to claws, as it scratched and hit against the glass containing it.
“Oh that?” Mark turned. “Yeah no I can’t remember his name. I just call him Number 578.”
“His? I’m sorry, was that a person at some point?” Toby was now a little concerned.
“Everything down here was! Some are more recognizable than others.”
“Good lord Mark! What do you do to these poor people?!”
“Experiment!”
“How long is your crime list at this point?”
“Too long probably.” Mark shrugged. They had been walking for a little bit now, going further into the abandoned hospital. Toby had eventually latched on to Mark’s arm, considering the horrifying sights throughout this place. “Mark…” Toby quietly said.
“Yes?” Mark stopped walking.
“I wanna go back up… please..”
“Alright alright. Just.. Hold on and prepare for a bit of dizziness.”
“Wait wha-” Before Toby could even finish his sentence, they were right back at the base floor, leaving Toby a dizzy and confused mess. “What the- Mark what the fuck?”
“Teleportation!” They helped steady Toby. “I told you that you’d be dizzy afterwards.”
“Jesus how do you deal with that all the time?”
“Skill. Anyways, it’s getting dark. You should head home.”
“Yeah.. Yeah. I’ll head out.”
