I was startled awake by the sound of banging on my bedroom door. With my eyes closed, I rolled over trying to reach for my phone and landed face down on the floor.
I groaned. “Mother-lover!”
“Are you okay in there?” a male voice questioned from behind the door.
I abruptly stood, made my way to the door, and swung it open. My hair was plastered all over my face but I didn't care. Behind the door with his hand ready to knock again stood a man in a white-T and torn jeans. Suddenly the memory of last night came rushing back.
"Hi." He smirked.
“You.” I pushed him farther into the hall and closed my room after me. “I thought I told you to leave!”
“SAW-REEE, so this is what I get for waking you up for school before I leave.” He held his hands up in an offended gesture.
“Yeah? Now I'm awake, so leave,” I pointed towards the door.
He backed away from me and towards the door. “Thanks for dinner.”
I frowned, “what?”
I ran to the small kitchen as he left my apartment.
It. Was. A. Mess.
There were egg-shells on the oven and he left the milk out! Dirty dishes filled the sink. Oh my days, I could only imagine what the kitchen would have looked like if he actually cooked a real meal.
“Mother-lover,” I mumbled.
I thought about letting it go when I remembered I didn't have a ride. He owes me a favor. I ran to the window in the sitting room and opened it. Peering out, I saw him making his way to his car.
“HEY!” I yelled but he didn't respond. What was his name? Shoot. Remember, remember....
“JEFF!!” I remembered right before he closed the drivers door.
He climbed out of his car and looked around.
“UP HERE!” I called loudly. “You owe me a favor.”

Minutes later we were in his car listening to music as he drove me to school. He chuckled.
“Aren't you glad I ate at your place?” He asked leaving his eyes from the road to watch my expression.
“Profoundly,” I mumbled. School was a dread. I mean I was fully capable of handling high school but it was sort of slowing me down. Not to forget that prom was right around the corner and I don't have a date.
I looked at Jeff and smiled.
He was a ten. His teeth were straight. His hair was not too long or too short but, dark and wavy. He was a bit muscular, just not like Raimondo. His posture was good, didn't hunch over. Well groomed.
Noticing my stare he gave me a double take and smirked. “What?”
And he had a dimple on his right cheek when he smiled. That's a plus.
“Take me to prom.” I bluntly ordered.
He thought for a second.“Yeah? You don't have a date?”
“No.”
He smirked again.
“Sure, I'd love to. Take my number from Raimondo and give me a call.” He reached across my lap and opened the door for me. I hadn't realized that we made it to school already. I smiled and got out bending down to look at him.
“Thanks for the ride.” I slammed the door and smacked his hood twice.
He gave me a salute and drove off.
That's solved. I stood straight with a huge grin and made my way into the building.
