I grabbed the blade off of the passenger seat and tucked it under my thigh. I dialed Meriç's number.

It took just one ring for him to pick up.

"Meriç," I breathed.

"Audrie? Is that you? Where are you? Where have you been? Are you ok?" He quickly bombarded me with questions of my whereabouts.

"Listen Meriç," I ignored his questions. "I need your help."

I quickly told him the plan and where to meet me. It took him less than a second to respond. He was going to help me. I said goodbye and hung up.

Resting my left hand over the bandages, I waited for the worst. It was going to get real interesting, real quick.

As foolish as he was, Jeff opened the rear door of the truck and entered arrogantly making sure I heard each step.

Thinking I was sitting in the passenger side, he went there first. He pulled the car door open and peered in. Noticing where I was he slammed the door shut. I closed the drivers door and locked myself in the car, knowing it will only make him more angry. Torturing him was always a pleasure.

He made it to my side and tapped on the window. "Open this door." Jeff calmly requested.

I gave him a long look measuring the height of his anger before shaking my head.

"Audrie," his tone was warning.

I laid my head back on the seat and continued to ignore him.

"If you ever want to see Meriç again..." Jeff began another threat. He must of been able to listen in to my call. Otherwise why'd he leave all people and decide to threaten me using Meriç. It was too current ot be a coincidence.

Hearing Meriç's name, I allowed him to open the door. "What did you do to him?" The last thing I wanted was for the one person I formed a friendship with to get hurt.

"Nothing, you are too easy." He chuckled grabbing my arm.

I pretended to struggle and reached for the blade. Thank god for the darkness in here. He didn't see what was coming. I tightened my hand on the handle of the blade. Waiting for the right moment, I let him pull me out of the car and that's when I gathered all of my energy and my weight and dug the blade into his stomach. I let go of the blade and grabbed the gun from beneath his top.

Falling to the floor and clutching the blade, he screamed.

"You bitch."

Jeff tried to get up but I pointed the gun straight at his face.

"Move and I will shoot you."

He chuckled a painful chuckle. Jeff really thought I was too weak to do anything morally questionable.

"I promise." I added.

His expression changed. Jeff looked down at the wound. The blade didn't go in too deep. The blade was no longer on him. He tried to reach for it, but I kicked it far from his direct reach. Jeff looked up at me with anger.

"What do you want?"

"Give me your wallet."

"What?" he hesitantly laughed in disbelief.

I shrugged my shoulders, "I will need money. I don't have money. You do. Now give me your wallet." I explained trying to keep the talking to a minimum.

"Audrie, you don't know what you're getting yourself into." He tried to reason while he extended his hand out with his wallet.

"Shut up." I grabbed the wallet and turned around to leave. But stopped abruptly. Two sets of headlights came towards the truck. Before I can make out anything, Jeff grabbed me from behind. He snatched the gun out of my hand and threw me back into the car. He pulled out something dark and pushed it into the gun. I stared in disbelief. There was no clip in it the whole time.

"You must really take me for a fool Audrie."

"Lock 'em." he pointed at the door, "and duck between the seats" he added before slamming it shut.

I couldn't see what was going on. Seconds passed and then an exchange of bullets erupted. I bit my tongue from screaming. It was over very quickly but I was not about to go out and check who won. I remained on the floor of the car.

The last thing I heard before dosing off was the sound of the truck door closing and the engine of the truck starting.

There were two possibilities. Jeff was lying dead somewhere in this truck and whoever killed him was driving this truck. Or Jeff killed all of the others and he was driving this truck. Either way, I prayed this was one of those sleeps that people didn't wake up from.

I awoke to complete darkness. Laughing at my luck, I've been waking up to darkness alot lately. I missed when I used to wake up to the sound of birds chirping and the hot touch of the sun rays that escaped past my curtains and into my room.

The only evidence of light came seeping through the cracks of a door across from where I lay. I saw a dark shadow move around disrupting the amount of light that escaped through the cracks.

Everything that happened last night came rushing back to my memory.

I continued to watch the shadow moving around in the room. Although I did not want anything to do with that murderer, part of me deep down inside was hoping that the person behind the door was Jeff. Atleast with Jeff I knew him enough to be able to understand what he wanted. And I knew, because he patched me up and attacked my attacker out in the forest, he did not want to harm me.

While the other men who trailed us, whoever they were, I had no idea what they may have been planning for me.

Breaking me away from my thoughts, the door opened. I sighed when I recognized the figure.

It was Jeff.

He came out and flicked on the lights. I figured it was too late to act be shy, I didn't avoid making eye contact this time. But he did, he looked really mad. The spot where I stabbed him was all patched up. He does a good job bandaging wounds. Should've been a nurse rather than a murderer. Sometimes people didn't get a thrill out of working with angels. If not the devil himself, Jeff undoubtedly worked for him.

He went about the room gathering things as if I was not in there watching him. He picked up the lamp and unplugged the wire. It took me a moment to realize what he was up to. Jeff was collecting anything that I could use to attack him. He pulled out the cabinets and threw everything inside. Bags, books, lamps, the glass candles, and all his stuff were inside the cabinets he pulled out. He carried them into the room he was in and locked the door.

He was obviously trying to put on a show. Like he couldn't do that when I was out.

I remained silent and didn't say anything. I wasn't planning on saying much either. He did the same and made himself comfortable on the bed I was on. Moving myself as far from him as possible, all I had to do to fall on my face was roll.

He didn't mind me distancing myself. Jeff lay very still. At first my plan was to wait until he was fast asleep and run. But I think I pissed him off enough for one day.

Tomorrow, however longer it is until then, I will think of something. Right now I was still so very exhausted. Closing my eyes, I waited for sleep to catch me.
