As the sun began to dip below the horizon, Armaan, Ishani, and Aryamaan made their way to Ishani's home in Canada.
Armaan watched as Ishani moved around the kitchen, preparing a simple but hearty meal for the three of them. Her movements were familiar, comfortable, and he found himself filled with a warmth he hadn't felt in years.
Aryamaan sat at the table, his eyes shifting from Armaan to Ishani and back again, still processing the new information about his father.
The conversation dwindled as the three of them sat down to eat. The food was warm and comforting, and Armaan couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment wash over him.
They ate in relative silence, but it was not an uncomfortable silence. Instead, it was a silence of understanding, of acceptance, of new beginnings.
As they finished their meal, Armaan turned to Ishani with a grateful smile. "Thank you , Ishani. It means a lot to me."
The atmosphere was comfortable, warm, and familiar, despite the years that had passed.
Armaan took a deep breath and smiled at Ishani, "I can't believe we're here like this."
Ishani nodded in agreement, "I know. I never thought I'd see you again."
Aryamaan grinned, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Mommy just told me that when you were a kid, you used to eat so many chocolates that you got a stomach ache and had to go to the doctor!"
Ishani laughed, the sound a gentle reminder of the good times they'd once shared. "It's true, Armaan. You were a little glutton for sweets."
Armaan feigned indignance, a playful glint in his eye. "Hey, I was growing boy! I needed my energy!"
"Can I ask you guys something?" Aryamaan asked, his voice filled with the excitement of a child who had suddenly found himself with two parents instead of one.
Armaan and Ishani exchanged a glance, their hearts melting at their son's enthusiasm.
"Of course, kiddo," Armaan said, his eyes crinkling with amusement. "What's on your mind?"
Aryamaan's eyes lit up, his smile stretching wider. "Can we have a family movie night tonight? I've been dying to watch that new superhero movie, and it'd be cool if we could all watch it together."
Ishani chuckled, glancing at Armaan for his reaction. "I think that sounds like a great idea, don't you, Armaan?" she asked, her voice warm and inviting.
"I couldn't agree more, Ishani," Armaan said, a grin spreading across his face. "A family movie night sounds perfect."
Aryamaan let out an excited whoop, jumping up from his seat and dancing around the room, his energy infectious.
"What do you say we pop some popcorn, snuggle up on the couch, and enjoy the movie?" Armaan suggested, his voice filled with excitement.
"Yessss!" Aryamaan exclaimed, his face practically glowing with happiness.
With popcorn in hand, the three of them settled onto the couch, the anticipation of the movie palpable in the air.
As the credits began to roll, Armaan felt a sense of peace wash over him, a contentment that he hadn't experienced in years.
He glanced over at Ishani, her head resting gently against his shoulder, and then at Aryamaan, his eyes wide with excitement as the action on screen intensified.
Armaan carefully lifted Aryamaan's sleeping form from the couch, his muscles instinctively remembering the weight and feel of his son. He and Ishani gently placed the boy in his bed, tucking him in and smoothing his hair back from his forehead.
As the two of them turned to leave, Aryamaan mumbled, half-asleep, "Stay together in the same room, okay? Like in the movies."
Armaan and Ishani exchanged a long, meaningful look.
"Okay, sweetheart," Ishani whispered, bending down to press a kiss to Aryamaan's forehead.
