twenty-three year old alexandre von lichtenwald, heir to the vyltiana duchy, and a captain of the aquarius knights, one of the twelve knight orders of the imperial family, the twelve knight orders were led by admirals, as it seemed the hero they summoned was in fact a naval officer in her world, so their entire military power structure, was naval based

captain lichtenwald, commanded the old vanguard-class battlecruiser, the reliant, the funny part about the old ship, was that it was in fact, a ship that could have taken on the IJN yamato, or the bismarck, the ship would have been considered one of the biggest battleships in shinji's world, but in this one, it was considered one of the damned smallest, the truly monstrous ships like the royal-sovereign-class, or the ark-royal-class were vessels to behold

but alexandre didn't command those gargantuan hulks, despite him having the option to do so, he instead commanded what has since been nicknamed the 'invincible reliant', do to the magical technology, incorporated into all naval ships, this meant that a captain's ship was their seat of power, as the ship would be powered by the captain's djinn, granting the ship, that djinn's abilities, usually this meant very little as it only powered the ship systems without giving any extra benefits, but alexandre was once shinji ikari, and so his ship had the power of an evangelion at it's disposal, it's cannons were now positron cannons, and it could now generate an AT-field, which is where it got the moniker 'invincible reliant'

so despite the ship being rather ordinary and even disappointing in it's appearance for this world's standards, in reality, it lives up to it's namesake, and is the most trusted ship in the entire asdonia empire, and the high-king himself has named the reliant his personal flagship for the trust and respect he has for the vessel and it's crew

"my lord" an officer barged into his office

"do you not know the definition of the word 'knock, what is it lieutenant" i asked

"sir, a report came in, we are to depart immediately, the entire garrison is being mobilized" he said, my eyebrow raised

"i see, i assume you have sent word to the reliant, before bothering me" i said

"yes sir, she is ready to depart immediately" the officer said

"who was dumb enough to get the entire garrison's attention, or are those foolish zovallens trying to encroach on asdonian territory again" i said, annoyed as i made my way to the reliant

normally a vanguard-class battlecruiser would act as escort to the bigger ships, but because of the reliant's sheer importance, as imperial flagship, it itself had two ark-royal class dreadnought battleships as it's own escorts they were, which were the second most powerful vessels in asdonia's entire arsenal, a bit backwards, and alexandre had previous argued it was a huge waste of recourses and exceedingly unnecessary, but he lost that argument long ago

"sir the fleet has gathered" an officer on the reliant's bridge said

"and, what, are the waiting for us" i asked

"yes sir" the officer said, i sighed

"i am not the garrison commander, inform our commanding officer, that we are waiting on her order, and are her subordinates, imperial flagship or not" i said, annoyed

"sir, don't be too hard on her she was just recently promoted and assigned to us" the XO matthius hawthorne said, my trusted right hand said

"i see, then i will need to show her the ropes, i suppose" i said

"yes sir, i suppose you would sir" the man said, with a small smirk

as the fleet new garrison commander finally got her nerves together, and the fleet was on it's way

what occured was a one-sided massacre, a group of pirates had managed to get together a fleet of ships from damaged vessels of other nations, and even a couple asdonian ships, but besides the reliant, the entire garrison was top of the line ships, this was an important garrison that needed to be held for the stability of the empire, as this was a major shipping lane for trading goods

"how disappointing, a false alarm" i said, with a sigh

"it can't always be exciting engagements with other kingdoms, captain" matthius said

"no, it can't at that" i said

"sir, the garrison commander has given the all clear to return to base" the comms officer said

"it seems our new commander has finally gotten her wits about her, you heard the man helm, bring us about, take us home, i have paperwork to do, it seems we are getting our dragoon compliment back, and i am trying to hurry that along as much as possible" i said

"aye sir" the helmsman said

"it's been what six months since we seen vincent, and the rest of the miscreants" matthius said smiling fondly

"indeed, and i want those miscreants back on my ship where they belong" i said in agreement
