Kyla Foster
Yes, next time I will look for someone to go with me to places I haven't been to before. Because next time I don't plan to be lost in the middle of nowhere!
I got lost looking for Lil Goldy's fucking house or whatever his name was. Madison's 'instructions' were vague so now I'm in some dead end street with no lights just waiting for some serial killer to come out and kill me.
At least I have my cell phone with me. And loaded. I knew I'd need batteries for tonight. I quickly click dial and enter Madison's number.
Please answer me.
And...she doesn't answer. Fuck it. What will I do now?
I will not call my parents because they will never let me go anywhere at night again. And they're going to ban me from hanging out with Madison because she's 'irresponsible'. I mean with this move she is.
While my cell phone is still on, one person comes to mind that I can call. Ryker. But...if Maddy doesn't answer, he probably won't either. Is it?
But damn it, I can't wait for someone to show up here and kill me while I decide whether or not to invite him. So I find his number, say a prayer to myself and press the call button.
And it rings. Once twice. Three times. Four times.
A stone falls from my heart when I hear his deep voice on the other side.
"Kyla? Where are you? What happened?"
"Oh, well hey Ryker. You know, I'm a little lost and your girlfriend isn't answering so..."
He cuts me off before I can come up with an excuse as to why I'm calling him.
"You get lost? Where are you?"
"I do not know. I was looking for a house from that guy Lil Silv Gold something and now I'm in some unknown street. Alone..."
There is silence for the next few seconds. And a long uncomfortable one.
"I'm in the car. Can you describe that street to me?"
I look around me, looking for some recognizable sign.
"There is an abandoned shop with a broken window, and an old billboard with posters. I think I'm near the main road, I can hear cars."
"Good. Just stay where you are. I'm coming for you."
I feel relief, but also a little discomfort.
"Thank you..."
I hang up and something and my body starts to shake. And I think I'm sure it's not from fear. But from a new feeling. Impossible. He's coming to get me because Maddy probably told him so. Because I am her best friend after all.
After a few minutes I see Ryker's Mercedes speeding. He stops when he stands next to me and I run inside.
I sit in the passenger seat and close the door. I look at him briefly, but I see that he has already started driving. I immediately feel his scent in my nostrils.
The same smell as on the T-shirt I wore last night.
I suddenly feel stupid. I don't do things like this. I don't go to parties, I don't wear tight t-shirts with cleavage, and I don't wear tight jeans. And I definitely don't put dark red lipstick on my lips.
"How did you manage to get lost?" he asked me for the first time, looking at me closely.
"Looks like Madison's explanation of the location wasn't very good."
