She couldn't believe it. Oh my gosh, I have a dad, Nailani thought to herself. I have a paternal Grandmother. She didn't know how to feel, the office was quiet as they waited for Nailani to say something, anything. She doesn't, with her unshed tears, hold on to the results. Her knees wobble a bit, causing the girls to lead to the office sofa where she sat. As she sits down, she Nods her head.

"Alex is my dad," she whispers, still in disbelief. "Ms. Sonya, Ms. Sonya is my grandmother." As the tears slowly start to tread down her face, she starts to laugh. It's a heartbreaking laugh filled with disbelief, hurt, and something else she could not even put a name to what she was feeling. Nailani hands the results to Jamila who reads it before passing it to Xavier. The results for both tests prove that Alex had in fact been her father. Nailani was a mix of emotions, there was anger, recalling the letter her grandmother had written to Ms. Sonya, how her egg donor avoided the subject, telling them it didn't matter. She remembers when Ms. Sonya's son died when she was ten years old; he was always kind to her whenever she and Jamila would hang out at Ms. Sonya's house.

She could have had a dad, and she could have had a family that loved her and wanted her, but that wouldn't have made her feel like an afterthought. She thinks of all the what-ifs and then starts to think about how her mother kept all of that from her. She continues her bitter laugh before she breaks into heavy sobs that cause her body to shake as she tries to hold herself up.

"I can't believe this sh*t," she says, sobbing uncontrollably. Her emotions get the best of her; Jamila and Janessa try their best to console her as she continues to sob.

"Oh my gosh, I can't, I can't breathe," Nailani says before everything goes black.

"Nai," Jamila exclaims. Mr. Clyde pulls out his cell phone and calls 911. Janaya grabs a bottle of water and a fan.

"Nailani," they say, trying to wake her up.

"The EMTs are ten m minutes away," Mr. Clyde says

"What? That's too long; we should just drive her," Xavier says, worried.

"I don't think it's safe to move her," Janaya says

"But," he starts

"She's still breathing, so we wait," Jamila interrupts him.

Xavier gives Jamila a look but says nothing as Janessa puts a pillow under Nailani's head.

"Hon, let's wait for the paramedics, we're here. She'll be okay," Janessa says, placing a hand on his arm. A sense of calm comes over him, though he is still worried for his sister, but His wife is right. They were here. They weren't gonna let anything happen to her.

After what seemed like forever to the group, the paramedics finally arrived. Janaya guides them over to the still-unconscious Nailani.

"How long has she been unconscious," the Male paramedic asks

"About fifteen minutes," Jamila replies

The paramedics took over checking her vitals and blood pressure.

"Blood pressure elevated," the other paramedic says

"We need to get her to Flynn Mercy Medical Center now.

They put her on the gurney and into the back of the ambulance. "I'm coming with, "Xavier says

"Sir, you can't..." Xavier cuts the male paramedic off. "I'm her brother," the paramedic sighs before saying, "Okay, hurry." Xavier kisses Janessa and tells them to meet at the hospital as he gets in the back. They watch the ambulance drive away before Janaya and Janessa head to Janessa's car.

"I have to let my aunt know," Jamila says before making her way to her car. She dials Sonya's number. It rings for what seems like forever before she answers.

"Hello," Sonya says into the phone

"TT Sonya, It's Nailani" Jamila rushes out

"What about Nailani, love?" Sonya asks

"She has just been rushed to the hospital. I'm on my way to get you so we can meet the others there."

"Oh no, is she okay?" Sonya asks worried

"We don't know, she fainted." I think you should just head to the hospital and just call when she wakes up. I'm not sure she's going to want to see me," Sonya says sadly.

"TT, I think you need to be there. There's something else," Jamila starts. "She is your granddaughter." There is a pause on the phone, Jamila waits for her aunt to say something, but she is met with silence.

"TT?" Jamila says

"She's?" Sonya starts

"Yes, she's Alex's daughter," Jamila says

"I have a granddaughter," Sonya says in disbelief

"You have a Granddaughter, TT Sonya, and she needs us, so I'm on my way, okay," Jamila says

"Yes, I'll be ready when you get here," Sonya replies.

They hang up, and Jamila drives as fast as she can, following the rules of the road as much as possible so she isn't pulled over. Once she arrives at her aunt's house, she sees Sonya waiting on the porch. She meant it when she said she'd be ready, Sonya thought to herself.

"Ready?" Jamila asks as she gets out of the car to help her aunt into the vehicle.

"Yes, and can you explain to me what happened," Sonya says

"Well, we were all at McBride and Associates in the Xavier office. She had called me when I was on my way home, and she asked me to come by; that's when I found out the results were there. Nailani opened the results, and she told us that you were her grandmother. She started to cry, then laugh, and next thing we knew, she was on the floor." Jamila says

The car was eerily silent. Sonya didn't know what to think. She was just praying that Nailani would be okay. All these years, Alex had a child, a child he never got to raise. She was angry with Cheryl because she kept Nailani from receiving a father's love. Had Alex truly known that Nailani was his, for sure, he would have raised her. She was angry at her best friends as well, and she shouldn't be because they were gone, but damn them for keeping this from her from Nailani. She always loved Nailani as one of her own. Oftentimes, Nailani would be at her house, and there were countless sleepovers with Jamila; she had practically been in her life her whole life, but it wasn't the same. They both were robbed, but she hoped if Nailani ever forgave her, that would change, and they would build a stronger bond, and they would make the memories, just as Narii hoped.
