Connor's P.O.V:

"Wait, so you literally stormed off to nowhere after you found the bug in your hot cocoa? Where'd you go?" I chuckled

"Yes, I did." She grinned, "I decided to go to 7-eleven and munch on a hot dog...angrily, if I may add. I swear people were keeping their distance from me- I even over heard a mother behind me whisper-hissing to her kid to 'stay with her' because 'the woman is like bubba the volcano'."

I laughed, amused, "Who's 'Bubba the Volcano'?"

"I honestly don't know."

My smile was plastered on my face, and it feels pretty good, "Why?"

"Why what?"

"Why would you get so mad?"

"I spent a long damn time making that-"

"You made it in a minute." I smirked

"I.am.lazy. I spent a lot of time making that on a really chilly winter day! I was wearing my super comfy sweater and leggings, had a warm and delicious mug of hot cocoa with marshmallows, while reading a wonderful book, I was home alone soI could do whatever I pleased at peace?! After reading one page, I find a dead BUG in my cocoa!? Would you like that? OH HELL, YOU WON'T! Plus, that time I finished the choco powder I used to make the hot cocoa, and my family was out at the store buying it and a few other groceries. I was very disappointed, and it ruined my day." She huffed and crossed her arms over her chest

"I do remember that Felicia told me that once while you were in Canada...it was the only message she sent me," I rubbed my chin with my finger

"And she told me that you were upset for about 2 hours straight." I chuckled

"I did. Ugh, I just hate it so much when something great goes wrong."

"Don't we all?" I rubbed her back reassuringly, "You could have just scooped it out with a spoon, you know."

"Gross."

A second passed, "The only message she sent you?" her showing a worried expression

I quickly caught up to what she talked about, "Uh, yeah. I mean, like, the only longest message she's sent me, or the only longest conversation we've had? The rest was small talk." I shrugged

"Okay." She nodded

We were walking to a nearby café, it was my favourite. It's called Temperance- beautiful name, isn't it? I love how simple it is there, how the scent of baked goods and mouth-watering drinks welcome you as you open the door. It's my 2nd happy place, and I hope this place doesn't go away.

"So, where are we going, again?" She tapped my shoulder

"Huh- oh, uh, you'll see." I smiled

"Aw, please?"

"It's a surpri-"

"Pwetty pwease?" She gave me puppy eyes

I'm not going to lie, that was the most adorable thing I have seen today. Is this her strategy to get what she wants, 'cause if it is it works really well. Her green eyes seemed to sparkle from the sunlight, and as I continued to observe her, I felt something. It's as if she now has a special place in my heart, and my mind. I wonder...

"...wid a chewwy on top?" She pouted

I couldn't take it anymore, so I shut my eyes and shook my head, waving my hands as if to make this disappear, to make this stop. She's just like Felicia, wow.

"Alright, Alright." I ran my hand through my hair

I sighed, "We're going to have a fun time at Temperance's."
