Chapter 9

Jieun's POV

After applying perfume and grabbing my things with me, I immediately left my room so I could leave immediately.

"Jieun?", my dad said as I stopped on my tracks.
"Yes dad?", I asked as I approached him.
"I'll be away from a while, 'cause I'll be meeting with some of our company's investors..", he told me.
"Really? How long will you be gone?", I asked him.
"Probably for a month or two.", he said.
"I see..", I said with a sigh.
"Don't worry, sweetie! I'll be back immediately..", he told me.
"When will you leave?", I asked him.
"Tomorrow morning..", he said.
"I see! Don't forget to care of yourself always, dad!", I told him.
"I will, sweetie! You too! Keep yourself safe always!", he worriedly told me.
"I gotta go dad! I don't want to be late!", I said as I hugged him.
"Alright sweetie! Take care!", he said as I felt him, planting a soft kiss on my forehead.
"You too, dad! I'll see you tonight!", I told him as I left.

After I left the condominium, I immediately walked my way to school. Can't believe I'll be alone at home for a month or two 'til dad comes back! I thought to myself as I listened to music with an airpod in my left ear while walking. 15 minutes later, I finally arrived at the campus. The moment I arrived in the hallways, I immediately went straight inside the classroom.

"Hey NiNi!", Chaehyun greeted me with a smile.
"How are you doing?", Gaeul asked me as I sat on my chair behind them.
"Doing great as always! Can't believe I'm gonna be alone for a month or two 'cause of dad's work!", I said with a sigh.
"Why?", Gaeul asked me.
"He's going to be out of the country for a while..", I said.
"I see. Wanna stay over at my place for a while? I mean.. mom doesn't even mind if we stay over.", Chaehyun said.
"Are you sure? It might be too burdensome for auntie..", I said.
"It's ok! And plus.. the guest room in our apartment is very big and spacious for us to fit in.", she said.
"Yeah! We can even use those bunk beds in your room.", Gaeul said.
"Nice idea, Gaeul! So.. what do you say, Jieun?", Chaehyun told me.
"Yeah sure! Dad doesn't even mind if I stayed over at your place or even at Gaeul's, since he knows that I'll be safe there!", I said.
"Alright then! Then I'm expecting you and Gaeul to be at my house tomorrow Saturday!", Chaehyun happily told us.

And while we're talking, the door opened as Jay entered the classroom. One thing that immediately caught my attention was how his hair was slicked back, exposing his forehead and undercut and not the usual look on where a part of his hair was down and the other part was slicked back.

"Surprised with my look? I know I'm handsome but..  watch out, because you might fall for me later on!", he said with a wink.
"As if that'll happen, Park Jay!", I said.
"Well, anything can happen though!", he said with a chuckle.
"By the way.. I'm sorry if I almost lashed out on you last night..", I said.
"It's ok, I understand! Please don't bottle up your anger. It'll only get worse..", he worriedly told me.
"I will!", I said.
"Promise me that from now on, you'll never be afraid to open up your feelings towards me. I know I wasn't a good person to you but.. I want to be a better and matured friend to you..", he said, raising his pinky finger.
"I promise!", I said, locking our pinkies together.
"You no longer need to be scared of me! I've changed..", he told me with reassurance.
"I know! I can tell!", I said with a smile as we gave each other a fist bump.
