"Ha, Kooki... They are coming tomorrow for dinner. Jiya invited them herself without asking us."
Jungkook sighed, "Should I come, Mom?"
"I don't know, Kooki... You are the only brother, but I won't compel you."
"Don't worry, Mom. I'll come. I'll be there in the morning," he said, cutting the call.
"Hmm?" Taehyung looked at him with a questioning expression.
"My sister's boyfriend and his family are coming tomorrow. She wants me to come home."
"Don't go... stay with me," Taehyung hugged him.
"I'm the only brother, Hyung..."
"Only brother or only working person?" Taehyung raised an eyebrow.
"Hyungi..."
"I'm not getting it, Kooki... Your parents are sending you out for a job, not your sister. Why? If she doesn't want to take responsibility, she can move out. Right?"
"What are you talking about?" Jungkook stared at him. "You're taking care of my family and I'm taking care of my family."
"My siblings aren't making me work for their food, clothes, and makeup," Taehyung said, raising his voice slightly.
"I hate you," Jungkook pushed him and walked to his cabin.
"Jungkook, hey... come here."
"No... I hate you," he yelled, slamming the door.
"I just said the truth," Taehyung sighed.
*******
Jungkook knocked on the door and entered the room. "Hey, Kooki," Mingyu greeted him.
"Hi, Mom... how are you feeling now?" Jungkook asked as he sat beside her.
"I'm okay, Jungkook," she replied with a smile.
"I'm going home tomorrow," he informed them.
"Why? Is there an emergency?" Mingyu asked, concerned.
"My sister's boyfriend and his family are coming for a visit. She wants me to be there," Jungkook explained.
"Oh... How many days are you taking off?" Mingyu inquired.
"Just one day, man. Min, you should go back to the hostel and get some rest. I'll stay with Mom tonight."
"It's okay, Jungkook. You need to go home tomorrow," Mingyu insisted.
"The railway station is nearby, man. I can manage. You need to get some sleep-you look exhausted."
"But Jungkook!" Mingyu protested.
"Mom, do you have any problem ?" Jungkook asked, looking at Mingyu's mother.
"No, Kooki. Both of you are my children," she said warmly with a smile.
"Did you hear what Mom said? Go on, get some rest," Jungkook said, gently pushing Mingyu out of the room.
"Thanks, Jungkook," Mingyu said with a grateful smile. He really needed the rest.
Jungkook watched Mingyu leave, then turned back to his mother. "Do you need anything, Mom? Can I get you something?"
"No, dear. Just having you here is enough," she replied, reaching out to pat his hand.
