Jungkook glanced at Taehyung from time to time, but Taehyung was unusually silent as he drove. Jungkook was scared and hesitant to speak with him. After what felt like an eternity, Taehyung pulled the car over to the side of the road and got out without saying a word. Jungkook stayed in the car, biting his lip in tension.Moments later, Taehyung returned with a plastic bag and knocked on Jungkook's window. He handed the bag to Jungkook, revealing a pair of pants, a t-shirt, and a towel. Jungkook realized he was soaked from the rain. As he looked at Taehyung, who stood a little away from the car, Jungkook quickly changed into the dry clothes. He called out to Taehyung, but received no response.
Their journey continued in silence until Taehyung finally stopped at a small, cozy restaurant. Despite the change of setting, the silent treatment continued. Jungkook's mind raced with questions and worries.
They reached Seoul in the morning. Taehyung stopped his car in front of his house and went inside without a word. Jungkook sat in the car for a while, gathering his thoughts, before finally heading into the house.
"Morning, Chipmunk," Yoongi greeted him.
"Morning..."
"Coffee or tea?" Yoongi asked.
"Coffee..." Jungkook replied.
"Then go make one for me too," Yoongi said, continuing to scroll through his phone.
Jungkook stared at him for a moment before heading to the kitchen, murmuring under his breath. He made three cups of coffee and set them on a tray. "Here," he said, handing one to Yoongi and turning to go upstairs.
"Don't you know Tae doesn't like coffee in the morning?" Yoongi asked, causing Jungkook to turn back. He shook his head.
"Tae knows everything about you—your likes, dislikes, favorites, routines—but you don't even know this little thing about him. So sad..." Yoongi remarked.
Jungkook walked towards Yoongi and sat opposite him. "I don't know. He was the one who always pampered me. I don't know anything about that man," Jungkook said, looking down with tearful eyes. "But I love him..."
"Are you sure?" Both of them looked upstairs. Tae was standing there in a full suit. Jungkook stood up from his seat. "Are you sure you love me? Or are you still thinking one day I'll dump you?" Tae's tone was harsh.
"Hyung... I... Please understand," Jungkook pleaded.
"What?" Taehyung asked while fixing his watch.
"Leave it, Taetae," Yoongi said.
Tae took a deep breath. "I'm going to the office. And Jungkook, resign from your job today," he ordered before walking outside.
"He’s angry with me..." Jungkook pouted and sat back down opposite Yoongi.
"Really? What do you think, he'll give you the princess treatment after what you've done?" Yoongi shrugged. Go to office and resign your job. Don't make him more angry. Yoongi suggested and Jungkook nod his head.
*********
"Resigning? Why?" the department head asked, looking at Jungkook in surprise.
"I'm getting married... He doesn't want me to work here," Jungkook explained quietly.
"Oh, congratulations! Look, our Jeon is getting married and his soon-to-be husband doesn't want him to work here," the head announced to the others.
