quick psa for this fanfic:
1. arthur lives with arthur hill, george and
chris
2. "arthur" - television
"arthur hill" - well take a guess
3. i do not know them personally so
personalities will be based on my guess
4. enjoy!!a knock at the door was what originally awoke chris from his peaceful slumber, but as soon as he heard that voice - her voice - he shot straight up in his bed without a second thought.
normally he would have ridiculed the person who has woken him before 9am, but upon hearing her voice all signs of anger left his body immediately. it was almost as if he relaxed.
leaving his bed, chris stretched quickly, not wanting to waste any more time especially as george was the one who had answered the door. he knew george all too well, and he didn't want george scaring her away before he got a chance to speak to her.
walking down the hall, nerves kicked in. what if it wasn't her and he was delusional? it would make sense considering she was living in birmingham.
looking at the door, it was her.
it was ivory.
-
5 minutes earlier.
ivory had recently moved from birmingham not even two days ago and here she was standing outside her neighbours door about to knock to introduce herself.
she, however, couldn't help but overthink. what if they didn't like her? what if they were fans? or worse they were the people writing the hate comments?
not to sound boastful, because ivory was quite the opposite, she was relatively famous. having just under 50 million followers on instagram alone, she was a star to say the least.
starting her career in youtube, from there she became a model and occasional singer. not only this but she also had a degree in midwifery and had worked as a midwife for a year before youtube.
after preparing herself, ivory finally knocked on the door, she would hate this usually but she thought she would step out her comfort zone for once.
a brunette man with a short beard opened the door. "hello how may i- shit!" he begins making ivory laugh slightly. "you're ivy denver."
the girl only laughs at this shaking her head. "i am, i also just moved opposite," she smiles at the guy in front of her, hoping not to scare him.
"seriously? sorry well it's nice to meet you kinda famous neighbour." he replies, shaking his head and holding out his hand which she takes.
"could say the same for you george clarkey!" she nudges him slightly with a huge smile which makes his jaw drop even more.
"you know wh-" his voice drones out as she sees him.
behind george, it was him.
it was chris.
-
the pair stared at each other and george looked between them confused. he didn't know what the hell was going on and was praying they didn't hate one another.
"christopher dixon!" the girl exclaimed as she rushed over to him and engulfed him in a massive hug. to be fair on the poor girl, she hadn't seen him in 8 years when she moved to nottingham for university.
"ivory denver!" he says at the same time as her, welcoming the hug. if truth be told, chris had missed the girl more than he realised, but he would never admit that.
"how have you been?" she asks genuinely curious, pulling away from the hug. she never not asks someone how they are out of politeness, however usually she wasn't that bothered by people's long boring answers.
"i've been good, i would ask you but well..." he chuckles as she smiles back at him.
"more famous than little chrismd, who would've thought!" when it comes to chris, all her morals of politeness go out the window because she knows he won't care. so of course she was boastful.
"hey without me, you wouldn't be where you are today miss 'i'll go in goal for your videos!'" he leads her to their sofa where she takes a seat, forgetting about george and not meaning to be rude.
george was curious how his semi-famous friend knew ivy denver, but chose to ask him later as he didn't want to be rude.
"yet who was your most loved and best goalie?" she snaps back - in a rude way. anyone who knew ivory personally will know she is juxtaposed to the previous sentence, but she knew chris and wanted to mess with him.
"john." he looks at her with a straight face, not breaking eye contact.
at this, ivory gasped. "how fucking rude!" she replies relatively loud which makes chris laugh even more than he should.
this shout alerts one of chris' other roommates, arthur. he sighs as he stops editing to get up and tell whoever that was to be quiet because he was trying to edit - politely obviously.
he opens the door and looks at the sofa, seeing a guest. "do you mind keeping it down i'm trying on concentrate?" he asks politely as ivory looks up at him.
"shit mate sorry yeah of course!" chris says as ivory gives arthur a small smile with the left of her face, but not quite a smirk. he immediately returns the smile of course.
"i'm arthur by the way." he holds up his hand and waves which causes the girl to laugh at the awkward interaction.
"i'm ivory or ivy nice to meet you!" she replies with a big grin as arthur walks back into his room with more of a jump in his step than he previously had.
she was pretty, there was no denying it, but something else intrigued him.
something about the way she held herself to make her presence known, but not so she seemed better than everyone else.
something about how when she smiled the left of her face lifted slightly more than than her right, probably due to the fact that when she does a small polite smile it's with the left of her face.
something about the way she spoke, more importantly how calming her voice was to him. she spoke as if she spoke any louder all the windows would shatter.
and finally something about how when she smiled her eyes twinkled ever so slightly, however she didn't fully smile with her eyes. to show as if she did care who he was, but was also weary he was a stranger to her which was fair.
fuck. from that moment arthur knew he was down bad.
