ivy loves going back to jersey. she loves to see her family, especially her 3 year old niece rosie.

"auntie ivy!" rosie shouts as ivy walks through the door, the young girl running up to ivy and engulfing her in a big hug.

"hey rosie!" she says, dropping her bags and picking rosie up. "how have you been?" she asks as a young boy comes around the corner.

"i've been good! this is my friend ollie." she smiles, wriggling out of ivys grip. "we're having a play date." she says as she runs back into the house.

ivy walks into the kitchen, to grab a snack. she'd received the message from arthur minutes ago, too scared to reply or do anything.

"ivy!" ivy's parents say, followed by her sister-in-law and brother. her brother had decided to stay in jersey, thinking it was the perfect place to raise rosie.

"hello hello." she says, hugging her parents and brother, mike and her sister-in-law, lauren. "rosie has a friend over?" she questions, not having expected it.

"yeah that's ollie, they met at nursery." lauren says as ivy nods, grabbing a banana and pealing it open.

"what's his last name?" ivy asks.

the thing with jersey, everyone knew everyone. so when ivy and arthur first introduced themselves both being from jersey, the pair was shocked they didn't know each other. ivy did however recognise his last name immediately, arthur recognising hers too.

"frederick." mike looks apologetically at ivy, knowing everything that went down between her and arthur over the last few months. "rory isn't with him."

"thank fuck!" ivy breathes out as rosie and ollie come running round the corner, immediately covering her mouth and hoping they didn't hear.

the door goes as ivy looks over to it. "i'll get it." she says as she walks towards the door and opening it.

there he was. the one guy she was trying to avoid. the one guy who broke her heart. whose girlfriend almost ruined her career.

"ollie, rosie come here!" ivy shouts as the pair come running around the corner.

"uncle arthur!" ollie shouts as he runs into arthur arms, arthur picking him up.

"hey bud, had fun with rosie?" he asks as ollie nods his head and arthur puts him down. "say thank you then."

"thank you rosie and ivy!" ollie says, as ivy kneels down to his level. looking at him and rosie, smiling.

"you're very welcome ollie, rosie what do you say?" she turns to the girl, who had cuddled up to her aunt.

"come again ollie, love you!" she says, giving him a hug.

a denver saying love you to a frederick. it was all too similar.

"love you too rosie!" he replies waving at her and going over to grab his uncles hand.

a frederick saying love you to a denver. it was impossible.

ivy admires the way arthur is with kids. she hates that she finds it so attractive. she hates that she hopes that it's their kid whose hand he's holding one day.

arthur admires the way ivy is with kids. he hates that he can't picture rory in her place. he hates that when he pictures his future wife he sees ivy, every time.

"i'll see you round?" arthur asks ivy, hoping, praying she'll say yes. even though rory had made him pick between the two, even though chris warned him about times like this.

"arthur your girlfriend made it pretty clear," she says to him with pain in her eyes.

he wanted to scream. to break up with rory. have ivy. but he couldn't, he wouldn't.

"i know ives," he says to her, walking away. "i'm so sorry. i'll talk to rory, i can't lose you ives. you're my best friend."

maybe taylor was right. she knew what it was, he is in love.

ivy smiled, closing the door. she was so confused. how can he love her but be with rory? how? why?

"why are you sad auntie ivy?" rosie asks as ivy looks down, smiling at the innocent child.

"i'm not rosie, just confused." she smiles.

"well i think arthur loves you!" rosie smiles as ivy just laughs.

if only it was that simple.
