Anakin and Obi-Wan's battle raged with a ferocity that matched the fiery landscape of Mustafar. Using the momentum from his leap, Anakin unleashed a vicious overhand strike, driving Obi-Wan to the edge of the platform. Obi-Wan attempted to rally, deftly maneuvering around Anakin to gain some distance from the brink. However, Anakin's relentless assault kept Obi-Wan on the defensive. Anakin landed a powerful kick on Obi-Wan's chest, sending the Jedi Master flying backward. Obi-Wan managed to recover and land on his feet, but Anakin's frenzy quickly drove him back.
The fight spilled from the platform into the catwalks and corridors within the mining facility. They entered the small antechamber outside the control room, where Obi-Wan saw an opening in Anakin's offense. Seizing Anakin's left hand, Obi-Wan pulled him into an arm lock and attempted to slash at the back of his neck. Anakin quickly brought his blade up to defend himself and wrestled free, renewing his attack with even greater ferocity.
Obi-Wan retreated into the control room, triggering the blasters held by the mangled battle droids scattered around. He redirected some of the shots at Anakin, who effortlessly deflected them and destroyed the droids. The situation grew increasingly desperate for Obi-Wan. The battle, which had started with terrible ferocity, degenerated into total madness. Despite his mastery, Obi-Wan was forced to constantly retreat to maintain his defenses and avoid being overwhelmed by Anakin's ferocious attacks.
Utilizing the force and his entire body as a weapon, Anakin smashed Obi-Wan against the wall. Obi-Wan managed to disarm Anakin by using the Force to momentarily reverse the polarity of the electro-drivers in Anakin's prosthetic hand, causing him to drop his weapon. Obi-Wan then summoned Anakin's saber to his hand. Anakin, unfazed, grabbed Obi-Wan's wrists, squeezing with his prosthesis until Obi-Wan was forced to drop the lightsaber.
Their duel degenerated into a brutal close-quarters brawl within the adjacent conference room. Anakin clamped down on Obi-Wan's throat with his prosthetic hand, throttling him while forcing Obi-Wan's weapon closer to his face. Obi-Wan narrowly managed to kick Anakin away, but Anakin quickly retaliated, disarming Obi-Wan. Anakin charged again, but Obi-Wan sidestepped and kicked Anakin in the chest. Anakin flipped over and landed heavily on his back. Obi-Wan telekinetically reclaimed his lightsaber and moved to finish his supine enemy, but Anakin retrieved his weapon in time to defend himself.
The duel progressed back into the control room. Obi-Wan attempted to rally, standing toe-to-toe with Anakin as they engaged in a swift flurry of swordplay. The bout ended with the two locked in a blade clash. Obi-Wan attempted to break the lock with a force push, which Anakin countered with one of his own, creating a vicious power struggle. The air pocket compressed by their combined force pushes ruptured and exploded, flinging both duelists against opposite walls.
Anakin recovered first, leaping across the control room at Obi-Wan, who narrowly managed to evade the attack and pin Anakin's blade against a console. However, their misdirected weapons accidentally destroyed the power controls for the facility's shields, exposing the interior to the intense heat of Mustafar's lava flows. Alarms blared, signaling the facility's imminent danger.
