"Mother, his solar plexus has signs of spiritual energy but it's empty. There is always a small pebble of light when a cultivator is born. His is gone. It makes no sense. He had it the day of his birth but now it is as if he lost it," a woman said.
"Let me have a look at him," the woman's mother said.
The woman's mother examined the little boy, who is only about six or seven. He should be well on his way to cultivating soon. The woman's mother could sense that this body, though young, has once lived a life before and has been brought back in time.
"He has lived a life once, and in that life, he had a golden core, but it seems he lost it at one point in that life. Once he died, he was given a chance of reincarnation and brought back in time, leaving only a shell and his soul, but not his core," the mother explained, "but he is not lost yet, he can cultivate again, but he will skip several steps in his training. It is not ideal but I can place him in the pool and he will gain immortality. He will stop aging at eighteen. He will be too strong to live as a normal cultivator within the sects if that is what you wish."
"What caused our boy to come this way?" The woman asked, "we will agree to it but what will come of him?"
"He will have to live here with me," the mother said, "but if you and your husband leave him here, I already allowed you back once, you have one final visitation right before you can no longer come back here."
"We accept," the woman's husband said, "though we travel a lot, I am still part of the Jiang clan. I do have my duties there and I have to go back soon."
"Please look after him well, Mother," the woman said and knelt down beside her son who laid asleep on the bed. She placed a kiss on his forehead, "I hope you will forgive us one day. If we meet again, we will tell you whatever you want."
With that, the woman left with her husband, leaving her son in the care of his grandmother. Her son, who many don't know, has memories of his past life and chose to keep it to himself. He will used this life to fix his mistakes. The first, not be a part of the Jiang Clan. Living with his grandmother was already a big change.

~*Wei Wuxian's POV*~
Seeing my parents again has been amazing. Only, I was only with them for a few weeks before being dropped off at Baoshan's Mountain, my grandmother. I didn't realize that it followed me to this life, the loss of my golden core. There was a solution, and Baoshan had a way to help. Jiang Cheng had his old one though but I didn't get mine back?
It doesn't matter anymore, I am cultivating again...but I was immortal now. I was eight, and I was an immortal. I remained hidden in this mountain for a while. When I was ten, I told Baoshan a story of my past. She frowned and sighed, "I am glad you are here now and I am glad you stuck to your values of what is right and what is wrong. You did the right thing. Those cultivators were the ones in the wrong, not you. Since that life is no longer yours, it is time you learn to move on and make a difference in this one. I will go visit the Dafan village and take them in. I know this is a big ask, but would you be willing to follow some of the old path? Would you be willing to go to the streets to allow Fengmian to take you in? You can't lose your cultivation anymore. Even of that Jiang lost his core, you can't help him anymore."
"If I go, I will be abused by her again," I said.
"You have knowledge, and I will give you my badge. You have protection with it. If you get hurt, I will be alerted immediately," she said, "this is a chance to make things right."
"I suppose so, and since my fear of dogs has been removed, I think I should try it," I said.
"Perhaps you could just go straight to Yunmeng? That way you will be around and I am sure Jiang Fengmian will notice your presence eventually," she said.
I nodded, "I just wasn't expecting to having to go back to that place. It still holds a good amount of pain for me."
"You can do this, A'Ying," she said, "You are stronger than everyone out there. You have this."
"Thank you," I said, "would I be able to return?"
"Of course, but I want you to return with that Lan of yours," She said with a grin.
"He won't even remember me," I said, "How can I call him mine?"
"He is still your soulmate in this life as he was in your last life. Soulmates never change. The souls follow each other in every lifetime. That is what a soulmate is," she said.
I blushed, "I will try," I said but I didn't have much confidence.
The following morning, I had a Qiankun bag full with clothes and money that Baoshan kindly packed for me. She had my sword and flute stored inside but to everyone outside this mountain, I am too young for a sword so I carried a bow and quiver full of arrows over my shoulder to help protect myself. She then opened a portal and I was in the woods near Yunmeng. I sighed knowing that this was going to be interesting going forward.
Yunmeng was bustling just like it used to back then. Before the war, before the blood, before the pain and suffering. Everyone was happy and healthy. Children ran around the docks playing like they used to. The Lotuses were in full bloom and I saw the pods were just starting to be ripe enough for picking. I was coming here and soon the peace will be disturbed. Maybe I shouldn't be here, or maybe I should be as obedient as possible so that nothing happens to this place.
