~*Lan Wangji POV*~
Seeing Wei Ying collapse, I finally understood that he was in a lot of pain. He was good at hiding it. I put my guqin away and went to pick him up. I then carried him inside and laid him down. Seeing Wei Ying go off on my brother like that was new. He never snapped at anyone like that before, and he never let his resentment get the better of him. It was a clear indication that he was not doing well.
Then again, he has lashed out at others for hurting those he cares for. Me being his person, he would fight the world for me, no doubt. I'd do the same for him. We had to fight once and it was against each other and that was painful. Now I refuse to fight unless he is by my side no matter what it is.
Wei Ying was the one being affected the most right now. He and I have yet to marry, and he was dealing with people who were ignorant of the truth. Evidence is plainly there but no one is looking. Not this time. Chifeng Zun will not let Meng Yao get away with this. As well as Baoshan. She had his medical history written down, and she planned to use it against him.
I had to call Baoshan to let her know what happened. She was not impressed really, but she helped me soothe the resentment that was still lingering around, attempting to break free. I laid down with him, I cried for him. I cried out of anger and pain. I cried until, I too, passed out.

~*Wei Wuxian's POV*~
When I woke, I was lying on top of Lan Zhan. It was our usual sleeping position when we pass out. Well, I passed out first, but he must have passed out hold me. I sighed and carefully got off of him. I did not mean to lash out at anyone yesterday, I was just so angry. Lan Xichen had hurt Lan Zhan more than once in the past life and he was doing it again in this life. Lan Zhan had his family and he deserved to have that connection with them. It seems like his brother, no matter the timeline, will always be manipulated by Meng Yao in some way.
Wai Po sent me a message saying we are needed in Qinghe for the trial. I sighed and turned to wake Lan Zhan. I smiled and leaned down, placed a kiss on his lips, "Lan Zhan, My Love?" I called out quietly.
"Wei Ying," he replied, eyes opening slowly, "do that again."
I chuckled, "do what?" I teased. He growled and flipped us over, he was above me and his lips attached to mine in an instant. I let out a soft moan upon the conclusion. I can never get enough of this man. Lan Zhan moved down to my neck, which gave me an opportunity to speak, "Wai Po reached out, she is waiting at Qinghe. The trial is in a few hours."
"Mnn," Lan Zhan replied, "let's get a bath and have breakfast."
"Want to bathe with me?" I asked. Lan Zhan didn't even reply as he just carried me to the bathroom. I laughed as he set me down and prepared everything. We haven't had sex, but we've been intimate. But this is the first time I really saw him in his full glory, "Woah, you're big."
Lan Zhan grinned, "when the time comes, I will make sure you are comfortable and well prepared."
"You know how to do all that?" I asked.
He helped me undress and lifted me up, "I do read you know."
"To think, you ripped up that erotica back then," I teased.
"It was the wrong kind," He teased back, "I do not look at that kind. Only the kind I can get information on how to please Wei Ying in the future."
I laughed, "well, I look forward to knowing all that you learned, our wedding night will be a thrill."
"Mmm," he nodded, "we will share this news with everyone after the trial if you are up for it. The banquet has yet to be held."
"It is tomorrow, hopefully," I said, "if not today, then tomorrow we announce it."
"Alright, unless something calls for me to address you as mine in order to protect you," Lan Zhan said.
"You know, my grandmother will be there," I said, "and I have faith in your uncle and father too. But I do appreciate that."
Lan Zhan placed a kiss on my forehead before helping me wash. I did the same for him. Eventually we got out, dried off, and dressed. When we were ready, we went out to the dining hall in Baoshan's home to have breakfast before teleporting to Qinghe.
When we arrived, it was only the Lan Sect and the Nie Sect for now, along with my grandmother. Chifeng Zun thought to keep this affair private. The rest of the sects would arrive the next day. I was grateful for that. It might help with keeping the reputation of the Lan Sect from hurting due to Lan Xichen's aiding a criminal.
"Now, we are here to press charges against Meng Yao, as he had killed several of my men during sunshot, some under the orders of Wen Ruohan, but after the bastard was dead, he continued to kill them off. He even attempted Wei Wuxian's life. I was already heavily injured due to Wen Ruohan and Meng Yao would have tried to harm me as well," Chifeng Zun declared, "I will, however, give Meng Yao a chance to try to explain himself."
"I had plans," Meng Yao said, "hopefully it would have gotten me the recognition I deserved from my father."
"So you thought killing Nie disciples and attempting to kill my grandson was the best decision?" Baoshan asked.
"I admit it was a bit of a stretch but I saw Wei Gongzi use resentment. I thought I'd do everyone a favor by taking him out for them," Meng Yao said.
"I can use it because I am the next Yin and Yang Master," I spat and showed him the Yin Yang symbol on my right wrist, "this here proves it, and I've had it since I was a child. It's very noticeable to everyone. Anyone who sees it will know who I am."
"Those masters were always said to be a myth, how was I to know," Meng Yao asked angrily.
"That is true," Wuxian said, "but attempting to kill me would not be the best approach. The first approach would to question me, not eliminate me. You are clearly uneducated...and here I clearly remember you at the guest lectures and Gusu those few years ago."
"If I wasn't bound and my powers sealed, I'd kill you just for those words," Meng Yao said, "how dare you look down on me."
I sighed, "I never said I did, I was just stating that you were misinformed of some things when dealing with certain situations."
"So you admit you want him dead," Baoshan asked.
"Yes," Meng Yao said then smiled cruelly, "he should be dead. He died before, why not do it again...how did it feel, watching everyone turn against you, and then watching the last bit of hope die before your eyes?"
"You remember?" I asked.
"Oh I do, and let me tell you a secret, it was me who gave a friend the spell to curse Jin Zixun back then, then that friend used a flute to alter your orders, causing the Ghost General to kill him and Jin Zixuan. How wonderful, right?" He told me.
It really was him this entire time. He was the one who planned it all, "you brought my shijie to nightless city too, didn't you?"
"I did not, but I told her where to find you. She asked a Jin disciple to take her to you. It was here own stupidity and selflessness that got her killed," Meng Yao said.
"Wai Po, I want this man dead," I said.
"And he will be, as it is his sentence," Chifeng Zun said, "he is too wicked to be kept alive."
Lan Xichen was even more shocked. He was shocked to know that Meng Yao was actually the person both his brother and myself warned him about. I sighed, "Lan Zhan, can we go for a while, I need to clear my head?"
"Mnn," He nodded and took me to an inn nearby. I was silent for the rest of the day. Lan Zhan just held me and comforted me. That was all I could ask from him right now. I needed his comfort. I needed to know that I was still sane after hearing what I heard.
