The preparations for the emperor's wedding were going on in a full swing. The entire Yiling was buzzing with happiness and excitement, preparing for the grand wedding ceremony of their beloved Emperor, that was about to take place with in few days.
The Emperor himself was banned from his own wedding preparations because his ability to be useful was equivalent to Little Apple listening to wei Wúxiàn. Which were Absolutely none. So he was gracefully (and gratefully) excused from the planning process!
His prep skills were a hazard for others, So for the sake of the wedding, and the sanity his friends and family he agreed relectantly.
They were completely oblivious to a sinister plot that was brewing within the palace walls. Yanling Daoren, had been stealthily placing his loyal men within the palace staff during the course of the competition. His goal was to kidnap the emperor and seize control of the throne for himself since Yiling patriarch destroyed Yanling Dynasty. It was Time for his Revenge.
One of the Night, the palace celebrated a grand feast, Daoren's men made their move.
They slipped a powerful concoction to Emperor Wei's meal. Dream Binder, derived from the venom of an Ancient Scorpio and distilled through alchemical processes, was infamous for its ability to temporarily seal one's spiritual energy and induce a deep, coma-like sleep. It was nearly undetectable once ingested.
Wei Wúxiàn, unaware of the danger lurking in his meal, ate heartily, his laughter ringing through the banquet hall. But as the night wore on, he began to feel unusually drowsy. He excused himself from the festivities, feeling exhausted from all the excitement.
Back in his chambers, Wei Wúxiàn struggled to stay awake. He felt an odd heaviness settle over him, his limbs growing leaden and unresponsive. Panic flickered through his mind as he realized something was terribly wrong, but the Dream Binder had already taken hold. His spiritual energy, normally a vibrant, flowing force within his meridians, was abruptly sealed, leaving him powerless.
Wei Wúxiàn managed to stumble to his bed, his vision blurring. "Lan Zhan..." he whispered, before darkness claimed him.
As soon as Wei Wúxiàn fell into the drug-induced sleep, Daoren's men moved swiftly. They entered the Emperor's chambers, their faces masked and their movements silent. Two men lifted Emperor’s limp form, careful not to jostle him too much, while others kept watch.
Yanling Daoren himself stepped into the room, a triumphant gleam in his eyes as he looked down at his nephew. "Finally," he murmured. "The throne will be mine soon."
The men carried Wei Wúxiàn through secret passages within the palace, avoiding the guards and ensuring their escape was undetected. They reached a hidden exit where a carriage awaited, its plain and dark exterior merging with the darkness of the Night..
Inside the carriage, Wei Wúxiàn was laid on a makeshift bed, his breathing deep and steady under the influence of the Dream binder, Daoren climbed in after him, a smirk on his face, as he looked at his helpless nephew.
"Sleep well, dear Nephew," Daoren said mockingly. "When you wake, the world you knew will be gone."
The carriage rattled down the hidden path, taking the unconscious emperor far from the safety of his Palace and family. The fate of the Wei Empire now hung in the balance, with its beloved emperor in the clutches of a Tyrant.
As the first light of dawn began to break, the palace remained blissfully unaware of the catastrophe that had befallen their ruler.
A Shrill alarm pierced the silence of the Wei Palace. Once peaceful Silence shattered into Chaos of battle. Clashes of steel, shouts, and cries filled the air as men in black attires, hidden in plain sight for months, launched their attack by opening the Main gates and leading waves and waves of attackers into the heart of the palace. The loyal guards of the palace were caught off guard, and chaos ensued.
