What a load of bullshit.

"You can't work on it, Glenn. Mr. Okinawa didn't sign the contract today. He is not convinced. I guess we will have to take a different approach next time. I don't want to lose this client. This is a big project, and I don't want the Amantes to get it! You have to do something to meet their demands!"

I got home to this. I was hoping I could close the deal, but it was a disaster. Mr. Okinawa wasn't happy with what the legal team presented. They missed two things, and one was the most crucial on the list.

Dianne told me about it already, but I chose to ignore that because I was confident that I could still win over the bidding project. 

Dammit. It was a mistake.

"What are you going to do about it, Glenn? Mr Okinawa gives us a week. You better fix this. We can't afford to lose this project. The entire Monde Firm's name is on the line, son. You better act now!" he exclaimed and trailed off.

I gritted. My heart is rumbling furiously. How dare he blame me for this? I did everything, yet it was not enough for him.

Saber's father is here, and talking to my father down the garden. They're on the other side of the hall together with Mr. Avantes, the owner of Crystal Builders. 

"Where is Erykah by the way? Ba't hindi mo kasama, kuya?"

Hindi rin yata nakatiis si Cheska at nagtanong na. Alam ko na itatanong niya ito, dahil kanina pa umiikot ang mga mata niya na parang may hinahanap sa likod ko.

"Iniwan ka na ba?" Selecta spoke out of the blue. She came out behind Cheska.

"Ate Erykah will never do that to kuya, you know?" Tumaas ang kilay ni Cheska kay Selecta at napangisi akong bigla.

"Malay natin baka nauntog na siya at hindi niya pala gusto si kuya. Masama kasi ang ugali ni kuya eh," matigas na titig ni Selecta sa akin.

"That's enough, Sel!" si Mama sa kanya. "You cannot talk like that to your kuya!" 

"Ayan kasi." Natawang bahagya si Cheska at sapilitang hinila niya si Selecta sa tabi ko. 

Umalis na ang dalawa.

I chuckled and shook my head as I looked at them. The two are childish, and they behave the way they want. It's sometimes understandable and adorable to see them like this because they are the only people in my world who can make me smile at family gatherings.

Kahit na purong kantyaw ang nakukuha ko sa dalawa ay hindi ko inalintana ito. I love them, and that's just how they showed me their love. I know both of them are disappointed because I promised them to become one of the bridesmaids at my wedding, and I broke that promise.
