"Glenn, it seems like you really want to keep her. What else could it be? Maybe you're developing feelings for Eres?"

Halos mabilaukan ako sa ininom at napaubo ako sa sarili. 

"Dammit. It went the wrong way." I mumbled and wiped my mouth.

"Yeah, sure, it went the wrong way, Glenn," Bryce laughed at me.

"Unexpected love never comes easily on the right path. It always falls under the wrong line and happens unexpectedly. And before you know it, you are already under the spell of love."

"What? Seriously?" I laughed hard. It's funny how Bryce interpreted my kindness.

Erykah is now ni Basilica Verde down Visayas part. It is located across from where Diezel is temporarily hiding. The BV area is rich in ecology, and its surroundings are covered in thick forests. It's a preserve with no other inhabitants.

There are villages down the main road, and the area is close to the sea.

Kaya ko nagustuhan ang geography ng lugar ay maliban sa malawak ang lupain, ay malayo ito sa mga taong naninirahan roon. 

I bought the entire place five years ago, hoping to develop it into a clubhouse resort business. Malaki ang perang napundar ko rito, at ngayong sisimulan na ang pinakamalaking proyekto na ito, ay excited na ako.

"That's not the answer I want to hear from you, Glenn. I know you. You are different from the rest of the Mondragons. Your brother, Morris, has become a different person. You are just like him. I know you have a plan, and you always play it safe." Umikot si Bryce at kinuha ang golf stick club.

"I know Eres is an alas at your sleeve. She has a purpose in your life. Even if you don't want to acknowledge that, I know Eres is important to you . . . You will not make that move if you don't benefit from it, Glenn. I know you." He smirked.

Tipid na gumuhit ang ngiti sa labi ko at tinitigan siya ng seryoso.

"Wala akong plano para kay Erykah, Bryce. It was out of the blue when I offered her the marriage," I sighed. "At that time, I needed a way to get away from my family, and seeing Erykah beside me became a solution to that." Ipinuwesto ko na ang golf club sa bola para matamaan ito. 

Napailing si Bryce. Halatang nagdududa sa sagot ko. 

"You know Erykah's vulnerability, Glenn. You have probably seen that in her eyes when you first met her." He chuckled and let out a short laugh.

I clenched my teeth and swung at the golf ball, but it failed to land in the hole. I missed it. Damn him!

Bryce finally got me, alright. He read my intentions. Part of it was true, and the other part I went along with what my heart desired. It's hard to believe, but I can't seem to let go of Erykah.

Noon ko pa sana gusto siyang pakawalan, noong gabing iyon sa unang pagtitipon ng pamilya na naroon siya. Pero hindi ko nagawa dahil parang hinihila ang puso ko pababa sa tuwing tinititigan ko siya. 

I had become greedy, and I know that. I'll be fine if I do not let my heart rule over my plans. 

Natawa ako, dahil nakakatawa nga naman ang mga iniisip ko. 

"Wala namang mali sa gusto mo, Glenn. Sana nga lang huwag mo siyang pagmalupitan. She suffers enough back home that she choose to run away." 

I paused with a surprise. My eyes widened a little when I looked at him.
