Vengeance.
I've never held such vengeance in my life as I do for the person I'm facing right now.
My eyes lock onto Takeshi. Our blades meet with a resounding crash.
A cruel smirk plays on his lips. "Ah, Haerin. I've already expected you'd come for me."
With a roar of rage, I charge at him, my katana slashing through the air. Takeshi meets my attack with his own blade, the clash of steel ringing out like a death knell.
Our fight is a blur of motion. Each strike, each deflect filled with precision and fury.
"You killed Eunseo! You killed my sister!" I scream, pouring all my anger and grief into each swing.
His expression remains impassive as he block my blows, his stance defensive. "She was a traitor, Haerin. She deserved to die."
His words only fuel my rage. I attack relentlessly. My katana a blur of deadly arcs.
He is skilled, matching me blow for blow, but he's on the defensive, struggling to keep up with the ferocity of my assault.
Our blades clash and spark. The sound a symphony of destruction. I push him back, forcing him to retreat step by step.
My mind is a storm of memories—Eunseo's laughter, her kindness, the way she always and cared and protected me. I channel all of it into my strikes. Each one honoring her memory.
My uncle eyes narrow as he realizes he's losing ground. He shifts tactics, attempting a counterattack. His blade slices across my arm, drawing blood. Pain flares, but I don't falter. I press on, attacking him as if I hadn't felt a thing.
"Is this all you've got after all these years I've trained you?" He taunts, trying to provoke me.
I don't respond. Instead, I redouble my efforts, my attacks becoming even more aggressive.
He defends himself desperately. I can feel and see his confidence waning as he realizes the depth of what he is really facing right now.
"You'll never win," he growls, parrying another of my strikes. "You're just a child playing with a weapon!"
I'm not just a child! I'm a warrior!
And I will avenge Eunseo.
The fight reaches a fever pitch, turning our movements into a blur of speed. I see an opening, a split second where his defense falters. With a fierce cry, I drive my katana forward, aiming for his heart.
He reacts, twisting away and countering with a slash to my side. Pain explodes as his blade bites into my flesh. I stagger back, blood seeping from the wound. He smirks, thinking he's won.
"It's over, Haerin!" He raises his blade for the final strike.
But it's not over. Not yet.
Drawing upon all my strength and anger, I charge forward. His eyes widen in shock as I parry his attack and, with a swift, fluid motion, slice his head clean off his shoulders.
His body collapses to the ground. Lifeless. His head rolling away.
I stand over his fallen form, my chest heaving, blood dripping from my wound. The room falls silent. The echoes of our battle fading away.
My uncle is dead.
Eunseo is avenged.
I'm finally at peace.
As the reality of what just happened sinks in. Exhaustion and relief washing over me. My sister's killer is dead, but the victory feels bittersweet.
Eunseo is gone, and nothing can bring her back.
Suddenly, a sharp pain explodes in my hand. I look up to see Carlos standing there, a smoking gun in his robotic hand.
Blood pours from my wound. My katana slips from my grip as I fall to my knees.
"You cut my arm," he sneers, stepping closer, his eyes gleaming maliciously. "And now I'll blow your head off."
