Why did she get engaged to Benny? So fast still. Maybe she has never loved me. Hanna and Beiber are wondering the same thing, so enemies become allies.
After physics class, Hanna caught Bieber's red rimmed eyes and shook her head. To her surprise, Bieber walks over.
"I know I haven't been such a good friend lately because of Selena. But now that she's engaged, we have something in common no?" Justin said. "I can cross being abandoned from my bucket list yes. How's the couple?" Hanna asked, semi sane. A loud voice in her head screams "wounded".
"Well, what do you expect? Joined at the hips of course." Bieber sighed, his feet shuffling. "But have you noticed, Selena is not wearing the engagement ring today?" Hanna asked, eyes lighting up at the observation.
"Hmmm really? Sorry I can't even bear to look at her these days. I have not noticed that. But just yesterday they went out to dine together."
"Right. No attention paid at all." Hanna said sarcastically.
"Hahaha, guess I can't help but noticed. Anyway, do you think she regret the situation? Actually I...I already bought a wedding ring for her...I just never get the chance to...you know...propose"
"Dude that's a serious confession. You should totally do it now and confuse the hell out of her." Hanna talks nonsense even though she felt a tinge of jealousy.
"Hahah you think I stand a chance? These days she's so cold to me. Ever since Hailey appeared, she doesn't believe me anymore when I say I love her." Bieber said, his eyes darkening.
"Who is it that you want? Stop sending mix signals to Hailey if you want Sel back!"
"No I haven't been sending any signals. Hailey and I are good friends. That's all. But Selena...she's the love of my love. I can feel her everywhere in everything, and that's what love is. And when she comes over, she do me like she miss me, even though she has been with me. I miss those days."
"Selena doesn't really do me. But we are more than friends. She's my emotional support and sometimes I feel, she needs a lifeline when she's in pain so I just step in. But Who the heck is Benny? I haven't seen this weirdo before. I heard he retained 3 years for public indecent exposure and is a heavy drinker. I'm not sure Sel will be happy with her."
"This is the last time we have this talk. I don't want to hear anything bad about Benny. We used to be pals but now..." Bieber closes his eyes sadly.
Wordlessly the two parted ways and the sky begins to drizzle.
