Unhooked (Selena)

Selena lost her ring. This might be a sign. Maybe she should rethink this relationship with Benny. It's going too fast. But she can't suppress a smile when she remembers him kneeling down, proposing awkwardly with an artisan ring. Beats anything Hanna could ever give her because Hanna is only a student but Benny is a oil and gas prince. Well he doesn't look handsome exactly. Some may say he looks gross af, but sometimes he is funny. He makes endless senseless poop jokes which could lighten the mood, and he treats her like a queen. Anything she needs he is on call, buy her anything she wants. At first Selena is not sure Benny is serious about her because he never buys her expensive gifts but he proposed, so he must be in love right? But now that the ring is gone, Selena is beginning to have second thoughts. Randomly she pull out her phone and dail Hanna cause she doesn't know what to do.

"Hi babe. Too mad to talk to me? Wait until you hear this: I lost my engagement ring and totally regret marrying that dork of a man." Selena breathes into the phone and is relieved to hear Hanna's voice.

"Serves you right to get hooked so easily. You know what I'm doing? I'm on a treadmill coz I gained so much weight on an ice cream diet after you got engaged." Hanna said, annoyed she has to handle this mess but secretly happy that Sel is coming back.

"What should I do? I can't say no. Who in their right mind can say no to a kneeling man? Even he's ugly. But I miss you. I miss us. I will tell him now that the wedding is off. It's a mistake I made in the heat of the moment."

"Good. Coffee tomorrow morning?"

"Yes."

But the next morning, Selena found the ring in the drawer. It must be there the whole day. She takes it out, stares at it for a moment, rubs it and then chucks it out of the window. "For our love, Hanna." She murmurs.
