Keith pov

Today was the day, I found out if Mason was my son. I was so nervous. Milani was just in a shutdown mode. She was ready for the answer too.

We waited by my phone waiting to hear a call from Madison.

It was a lot to worry about. Milani never really answered if she would leave me, but she didn't have the answer for herself. But the thought, that she thought about it is a tad bit hurtful and I don't think I'd forget it. But yet I'm not in her shoes.

How would I feel if Milani may of had a child she gave up and didn't know if was alive or well, but they pop up looking for her. How would I feel if she shared a child with someone else? There are human feelings that some people can't get pass. The possessiveness, the envy, the anger. I believe she would stay, she'll just be hurt, constantly reminded of another woman.

It had to be around 1pm, when we got a call.

Milani and I sat in our room and put the phone on speaker.

"Hey uh....he's not yours. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.." Madison said.

I let out a sigh of relief, Milani did the same, mouthing thank God. She shared a smile until the smile dropped when she heard Madison break out into crying.

Milani furrowed her eyebrows and asked me lowly,"what she crying for?"

"Are you ok?" I asked.

"I was just hoping it was you." She said, Milani made a the fuck face.

"Cause that means, my son is truly a fatherless child, because the other guy is dead."

We instantly felt bad for her and her son. Milani's jaw dropped as she held her chest.

"I'm so sorry to hear that. Hopefully, you can get in touch with his family, they'll probably be happy to know a piece of him is still here. Also I'm here if he needs a male figure as well." I said. Milani gave me a look and just left the room.

"Oh no you're good,"

"I don't mind." I replied.

"Does your wife mind?"
"I'll speak with her and get back with you."

"Ok, well I appreciate the suggestion and I'm sorry for putting you through this."Madison said.

"You're good."

"Alright bye." She replied before hanging up.

I went to go find Milani. She was sitting on the patio, rolling up a blunt. She hadn't smoked in a while. So she had to be feeling anxiety or stressed.

"What are you so anxious about?" I asked.

"Why are you so stuck on this boy being in our life?"

"Milani, the boy doesn't have a father."

"But what makes you think you're responsible to step in... I'm genuinely asking."

"What makes it different from me being a father figure to Ryleigh. We practically raised her since she was four."

"Keith you know the difference."she said stopping what she was doing and looking at me.

"What's the difference Milani?"

"The fact his mother is your ex."

"How is that different than Marli being in contact with your ex's son?"

"Don't start with that Keith." She said.

"No I believe I can start."

"Ok , so cool. You tryna do this to get back at me about a damn ex." She said
