Milani Pov

Everything went back to better again. The energy is back up. Now the Madison situation was over. I was just feeling anxious and tense about it. Like was I wrong to feel the way I felt about the situation?

I just hate , lately these situations are dividing Keith and I , instead of us against the situation. But Keith and I went back on dates. We're doing good now. We Went back to spending time with the kids. We have little outings like skating, movies, fishing, and arcades. I felt more relaxed again feeling my life is back in order.

Keiko and Kairo were going out with Keith and I tonight. Lately Marli been hanging with her boyfriend and Ryleigh. She makes no time for us anymore. She spends her weekends At Ryleigh's. And yes she's there. Marli is open with us. She'll let us know if she's with Jahsai or not or if she's just making it back to the house regardless the time. She really staying over there cause it's no curfew over there and she left around the time Keith and I was going through it. I don't think I was ever prepared for the day she outgrown us. Or have a life outside of us.

"I don't like how the last we seen this boy was prom. He doesn't make himself familiar with us and we have yet met his parents." I said as Keith and I got dressed.

"I mean it's not his obligation to have a relationship with us. He did his due diligence meeting us before prom. But I understand how you feel its like handing our child off to a stranger. I'm thinking his relationship with his parents may not be how ours is. A mom that's a nurse where your schedule is work then sleep so you can go back to work. Or a dad who's there but he's not there. We don't know the circumstances" Keith replied.

I'm surprised Keith is so chill about Mars dating. Definitely with him being the one talking about her waiting til she's 30 to date.

Yet he does well with giving the kids independence and respecting their individuality. He understands that Marli is almost an adult and what comes along with it is her expecting us to treat her like one.

"Yes exactly! And I think I'm also just feeling a way that she's being taken away from us. She's not under us anymore. Discovered boys then dropped us like a bad habit. But yea we need to know about these parents. We'll talk to Marli about it."

Once we was done getting ready, we went downstairs to see Kairo and Keiks sitting on the couch waiting for us.

"What we eating tonight?" Keith asked.

"Ruth Chris." Keiko said.

"Yall don't want no Applebees or Waffle House?"

"No, Ruth Chris."

"I say hotpot." Kairo said.

"What's that?" I asked.

"Where you can cook the food yourself."

"Oh we got hotpot at home." Keith said as we laugh.

"No dad it's different." Kairo said laughing.

"We'll do hotpot tomorrow and ruth chris tonight" Keith said.

"Alright ." Kairo said as we all walked out.

We enjoyed ourselves at dinner. The kids caught us up on everything going on in school and personal. We shared laughs, it was a good night.

When we got home Marli was there, packing extra clothes to go back to Ryleigh's. Ryleigh was in the fridge searching for snacks.

"I asked for wings all flats. It's a simple 10-15 dollar meal you can get for me. Simple things far before the big things." We heard Marli complain on the phone.

"You sound like a brat right now." Keith said to her as she just side eyed him and continued to zip up her bag.

"Hey rys." We said in unison to Ryleigh.

"Hey yal."she replied, grabbing a yogurt and heading to the sofa.

"I want hot lemon pepper with ranch... I can most definitely eat that." Marli said going up the stairs to her room.

"What are yall in such a rush for?" I asked Ryleigh.

"She's on the phone. She tends to move faster when she on the phone fussing. There's no rush." Ryleigh replied.

"Oh ok." I said.

"Have yal met Jahsai's parents yet?" I asked Ryleigh.

"Yea, in passing. His dad comes from work and just sits in the living room with a beer, up watching tv or knocked out, he doesn't really talk. His mom you only see her when she's leaving for work. She's nice, she speaks to us and sometimes leaves money for food or send food to the house." Ryleigh said.

"Oh ok. We have yet to met them." I replied.

"Catch em when you can, I guess." She responded.

Marli came back down with her bags packed for the weekend.

"Alright yal, love yal. See ya sunday, Ryleigh I'm ready."

"Oh uh love you too." We said shocked she was already trying to leave.

Her rush to leave really had me in thought.

So it was definitely apart of Keith and I recap of the day conversation.

"You think Marli is mad at us?"

"I don't think so. I think she's just in her own world."

"I just hope she's not being like I was as a teen dating. Putting a guy before family."

"I mean that's so , but she's with Ryleigh most times. It instantly went from them being over here on the weekends to over there."

"Well we know why. It's the no curfew thing. Then you gotta remember all the senior events she want to be apart of because of the boy. The football games, the parties, the night outs. "

"Yea you're right, I guess it's just coincidentally , she leaves when the last thing you said she said was it was better when we were living separately ." I said.

"I don't think she's mad, because she's with us during the weekday. She's just being a teen." Keith replied.

"Yea you're right. Who would have thought our Marli being out at parties probably already taking her first shots. Being the social butterfly she is." I said.

"Yea." Keith replied.

"Do you think she thinks we're cool parents?"

"Yea, she wouldn't have liked hanging around us all the time if that wasn't the case."

"Yea you're right." I said as we cuddled up with each other.
