Pov Luna:

The whole way over to Derek's aparment I have been stressing. I think that's pretty normal considering the situation i'm in. I mean, How do you confront your dead best friend? I feel happy that she's alive, but I do feel betrayed and angry.

I knock on the door and soon enough i'm faced with Derek.

"Luna can we-"

I cut him off walking past him and bump shoulders with him whilst doing so. "Not here for you Derek... I'm here for your sister, who I'm pretty sure is here as I suppose she got nowhere else to be as she's supposed to be dead."

"Oh come on-" He speaks again but I once again cut him off.

"Oh shut it, Derek. I'm not interested in whatever you gotta say. So please for once in your life do us all a favour and shut your damn mouth." I look around for any signs of Cora and I can see her standing by the window. "Can't even look me in the eyes?"

"I didn't expect to see you here." Cora said as she turned to face me. "You... Look... different."

"I just grew up, i'm still the same person I was seven years ago." The longer I looked at her the more I saw the eleven year old girl she used to be. She might have aged, but she definitely looks the same. "Why'd you pretend to be dead? Leave us all behind?"

"That day I made a decision, I chose to live... I didn't know you two weren't in the fire, I thought you both died along with the rest of the family. So when I got out alive I ran and eventually found a new pack. I only came back when I heard of a new alpha in town, a hale alpha."

"Why would I be in the fire?"

Cora her facial expressions changed making her look almost confused.

"Because you were always with us, Luna. You and Mason stayed at our house more nights than you spend at your own and the night before the fire you were with me and Mason was with Derek."

"Than why didn't you come back?"

"I didn't know there was anything to come back for... I would never have left if I knew, I wish I had known." Cora takes a deep breath coming closer towards me. "I'm really sorry for leaving you, It's my biggest regret in life... all I can ask for is a second chance."

I could feel the tears fall down my cheeks and I don't even know what to say.

"You missed a lot."

"I know, but I wanna make up for it... I'm here now Lun."

"There's something you can't make up for anymore, Cora. There's something you should know... A few years ago Mason passed away after he got into an accident. You deserved to know before you hear it somewhere else."

I can tell she's upset by the news, but she's just good at hiding it.

"When?"

"Next week it'll be four years."

"It's your birthday next week."

"It is... But I don't celebrate it anymore, not since he passed away." At this point I was sobbing. I don't like talking about it, no, I hate it. I don't like to think of him in the past tense.

Cora placed her arms around me pulling me closer to her. "I'm sorry." She whispers in my ear. I put my arms around her holding her tightly. Feeling her this close makes it all so real, it makes me feel safe and I just don't wanna let go. "I'm sorry."

"I forgive you... I... I love you, you idiot, I always have. You're my best friend. But if you pull a stunt like that ever again, i'll kill you myself."
