Mom,

I feel as if I have him back again.
Carl took my advice and stayed with Michonne and Judith for a couple weeks and he came back with a smile. It's been months since I've seen it and it was so beautiful seeing his smile. He looked more like himself than he had in a long time.
He asked me to cut his hair. He hadn't touched it since his mother cut it and he asked me to cut it. I did, and he looks more himself. Healthier and happier. He also looks more like Rick, too, which is why I think he wanted it. But he's still Carl. He's still my Carl.
We've spent most of the day together, catching up with him telling me all about Alexandria. I swear I couldn't even stop listening to him talk. He rambled on and on about how big Judith has gotten, Michonne too. He says Alexandria is growing and that he knows that Rick would be proud of what they're building. I'm sure he would be too.
With Michonne getting big, they've started thinking about names. Michonne believes the baby will be a girl, tossing around names such as Andrea after the woman in your group that had led her to the prison or Alexandria after the community. Carl believes it's a boy, and there's only one name suitable for the new Grimes, one I'm sure you already know.
I hope it's a boy, for Carl's sake. He bet Michonne a couple weeks of diaper changing duty that he was right. Although, between you and me, he'll be taking care of his sibling like his own either way.
He's sleeping now, which isn't surprising. I'm probably the only one awake in Solaris but it's nice seeing him so peaceful. He's slept for the past four hours without a sound. The nightmares used to be every night. I'd like to think that's progress.
I hope Hilltop is doing well, and that you, Hershel and Enid are, too. That image of hope is starting to come back, I think. When it does, maybe I'll be able to show it to you.

I love you,
Clary Rhee
