Jennie rushed out of the party, her tears rolling down her cheeks, her nose red from crying, and her eyes puffy. She ran until she reached the riverside, where she collapsed onto the ground. The gentle flow of the water did little to soothe the turmoil inside her. "So Taehyung took me to the party just to embarrass me in front of hundreds of people? How can he do this to me?" she sobbed, her voice barely above a whisper. "He even doubted our relationship, saying he doesn't trust me. I am done now. I've tried so hard to make this wedding work, even when he was so rude to me. I can't take this anymore. He won't even tell me what's wrong with him."
Jennie wiped her tears, trying to compose herself. She hailed a cab and directed it back to the Kim mansion, her heart now hardened. Upon entering her room, she was surprised to find Rosé and Lisa seated on the couch, their faces etched with concern.
"What are you guys doing in my room at this time?" Jennie asked, hastily wiping away any remnants of her tears.
Rosé stood up and looked Jennie in the eye. "Lisa was right. Someone is actually against us," she said.
Lisa nodded in agreement. "What are you saying?" Jennie asked, her voice tinged with confusion and frustration.
"Let me explain," Lisa said. She and Rosé began to recount everything they had discovered over the past few days. "We believe someone is trying to break us apart. The call, my trust in the family, and all the fights between you and Taehyung-they're all part of someone's plan."
Jennie's eyes widened in shock. "OMG, so all of this is planned? Someone is trying to break us? The call, Lisa's trust in the family, and Taehyung and my fights? Are all of these planned by someone?" she stammered, panic rising in her chest.
"Yes," Lisa confirmed. "But we need to find out who this person is."
Jennie's mind raced as she tried to piece together the puzzle. Suddenly, a realization dawned on her. "I think I know who the person is," she said, her voice a mix of fear and determination.
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the city, Kai stood in front of a mirror, a sinister smile spreading across his face. "The plan is going so well. No one can save the Kims. They tried to throw me out of Korea, but now I will show them how to play this game," he muttered to himself, laughing like a maniac.
Back at the mansion, Taehyung was frantically searching for Jennie, his mind a whirlwind of anger and confusion. "Where has she gone? I never thought she could have betrayed me like this. How could she leave me without answering my questions?" he fumed, his heart aching with a mix of hurt and rage.
Jennie took a deep breath, trying to steady the turmoil inside her as she looked at Rosé and Lisa. "We need to act carefully. If Kai is truly behind all this, then exposing him is the only way to save our family," she said, her voice firm despite the lingering hurt. "But we need proof."
Rosé nodded. "We’ll start digging into Kai’s connections. If he’s been manipulating Taehyung and the rest of the family, we’ll find something."
Lisa added, "We should also keep an eye on Taehyung. He’s too angry and confused right now. If we don’t tread carefully, he might do something reckless."
Jennie agreed. "We have to protect everyone, even if it means keeping this secret a little longer."
Meanwhile, Taehyung returned to the mansion, his anger boiling over as he burst through the doors. His eyes immediately found Jennie standing by the balcony, looking lost in thought. Without thinking, he stormed over to her and grabbed her wrist, his grip tight and unforgiving.
"Jennie, what the hell is going on?" he demanded, his voice trembling with rage. "How could you do this to our family?"
Jennie winced, trying to pull away. "Taehyung, let go. You’re hurting me," she pleaded, but he didn’t listen. His grip tightened as he dragged her into the main hall, his fury blinding him to her pain.
