Jennie sat in her room, the moonlight filtering through the curtains as she stared at the ceiling, lost in thought.
The confrontation with Taehyung had left her shaken, but she knew what she had to do. The only way to clear her name and save her family was to expose Kai’s treachery.
But it had to be done carefully—Kai was cunning, and if they moved too quickly, he would slip away.A soft knock on the door broke her reverie. She turned to see Taehyung standing in the doorway, his expression conflicted.
The anger that had fueled their earlier argument had cooled, leaving behind a mix of guilt and regret."Jennie," he began, his voice low, "can we talk?"Jennie nodded, sitting up as Taehyung walked over and sat beside her.
For a moment, neither of them spoke, the silence between them heavy with unspoken words."I'm sorry," Taehyung finally said, his gaze fixed on the floor. "I shouldn’t have doubted you. I just… I don’t know what to believe anymore."Jennie’s heart softened at his words, but she remained resolute. "Taehyung, I understand why you’re confused.
But you need to trust me. We’re supposed to be partners in this, and if we don’t stand together, Kai will win."Taehyung looked up at her, his eyes filled with pain. "I want to trust you, Jennie. I do. But everything’s such a mess."Jennie reached out, taking his hand in hers. "Then let’s fix it together," she said gently. "But you need to trust me, Taehyung. I know who’s behind all of this, and I’m going to prove it. But I need your help."Taehyung squeezed her hand, a flicker of hope returning to his eyes. "What do you need me to do?"Jennie smiled, leaning in to press a soft kiss to his lips. "Just trust me, okay? I have a plan."As Taehyung nodded, Jennie felt a surge of determination. She had already spoken to Rosé and Lisa earlier, and they had agreed on a course of action. It was risky, but it was their only chance. The next morning, Jennie met with Rosé and Lisa in a secluded spot on the mansion grounds.
The three women sat in a circle, their expressions serious as they reviewed the details of their plan."Lisa, you’ll need to use your connections to get the information we need on Kai," Jennie said.
"We have to find proof that he’s been leaking company secrets and manipulating the family."Lisa nodded, her hand instinctively resting on her belly. "I’ve already reached out to a few people. They’re digging into Kai’s financial records and communications. We should have something soon.
"Rosé chimed in, "I’ll handle Jimin. He’s still loyal to Taehyung, but he needs to know the truth about Kai. If we can turn him against Kai, it’ll be a huge help."Jennie smiled at her friends, grateful for their support. "And I’ll keep Taehyung close. If Kai realizes we’re onto him, he might try to strike first.
We have to be ready."With the plan set, the three women parted ways, each focused on their task. But before they went their separate ways, Jennie pulled Lisa aside."Are you sure you’re okay with this?" Jennie asked, her concern evident. "You’re pregnant, Lisa.
This could get dangerous."Lisa smiled softly. "I’m fine, Jennie. I’m not going to let Kai destroy our family. Besides, Jungkook would never forgive me if I didn’t do everything I could to protect our child."Jennie hugged her friend tightly, feeling a wave of emotion. "We’re going to get through this," she whispered. "All of us."
A few days later, Lisa sat in her room, reviewing the information she had gathered. The evidence was damning—Kai had been funneling company secrets to competitors for months, all while sowing discord within the Kim family.
He had also orchestrated the lies about Jennie’s supposed betrayal, using doctored documents and manipulated conversations to make it appear as though she was the mole.Lisa’s heart pounded as she realized the full extent of Kai’s plan.
He had even gone so far as to fabricate stories about Jennie’s past, claiming she had aborted a child to focus on her singing career. It was all part of his twisted plot to isolate Jennie and turn Taehyung against her.
But the most shocking revelation was Kai’s deception regarding the baby Lisa was carrying. He had tried to plant doubts in Jungkook’s mind, suggesting that the child wasn’t his. It was a cruel, baseless lie, but Lisa knew how deeply it had affected Jungkook.
Determined to clear the air, Lisa went to find Jungkook. She found him in the garden, lost in thought as he stared at the flowers. She approached him quietly, placing a hand on his shoulder."Jungkook," she said softly, "we need to talk."Jungkook turned to her, his expression conflicted. "Lisa, I… I don’t know what to think anymore. Kai said…"Lisa cut him off, her voice firm. "Kai is lying, Jungkook.
He’s been lying to all of us. The baby is yours. I would never betray you like that."Jungkook’s eyes searched hers, looking for any sign of doubt. But all he saw was the sincerity in her gaze, the love that had always been there. Slowly, he nodded, pulling her into his arms."I’m sorry, Lisa," he whispered, burying his face in her hair. "I should have never doubted you."Lisa held him close, relief washing over her. "It’s okay, Jungkook. We’re going to get through this together."
Meanwhile, Rosé met with Jimin in his study. She had been careful in her approach, knowing that Jimin’s loyalty to Taehyung would make him resistant to hearing anything negative about his friend."Jimin, I need to talk to you about something important," Rosé began, her tone serious.Jimin looked up from his desk, sensing the urgency in her voice.
"What is it, Rosé?"Rosé took a deep breath, steadying herself. "It’s about Taehyung and Kai. I’ve found out some things that you need to know."Jimin listened intently as Rosé laid out the evidence against Kai, his expression growing darker with each revelation. By the time she finished, he was shaking with anger."How could I have been so blind?" Jimin muttered, more to himself than to Rosé.
"I trusted Kai… and he’s been playing us all along."Rosé reached out, placing a comforting hand on his arm. "It’s not your fault, Jimin. Kai is a master manipulator. But we can still stop him."Jimin nodded, his resolve hardening. "You’re right. We need to tell Taehyung.
He has to know the truth."Rosé smiled, feeling a surge of hope. "We will. But we need to be careful. Kai won’t go down without a fight."As they prepared to confront Taehyung, Rosé couldn’t help but feel a flicker of warmth for Jimin. Despite everything, he had remained loyal to his friends, and she admired that about him. Maybe, just maybe, there was a chance for something more between them.
