UNTIL DAWN

Chapter Four - Lights Out.

12:30 AM.

An hour after Amber and Micah left the safety of the lodge the rest of the group started to drink, celebrating their reunion...besides Gracie and Barry.

"How can they drink knowing what happened last time we did this together?" Gracie says crossing her arms sitting next to Barry. "I have no idea, that's why I'm not drinking" Barry says in a sigh as Gracie lights up with an idea. "Should we go look around and just find somewhere more private away from these drunks?" Gracie smiles asking Barry as he nods immediately, "absolutely, great idea." He says as they both get up from the couch and start to head upstairs until they're stopped. "Where are you two going?" Andy asks clearly slurring his words as Gracie responds, "just upstairs to talk." Barry nods in agreement with her as Andy's eyebrow raises, "riiiight just to talk....Barry come here." Andy says pulling Barry to the side. "What's up dude?" Barry asks as Andy smirks, "I know you have no experience so I just want to make sure you stay protected." Andy says pulling out a condom from his pocket handing it out to Barry, "dude? what the fuck?" Barry says immediately getting flustered. "Better safe than being a dad at 19 Barry" Andy says with a lingering smirk, "just take it man" Andy persists as Barry rolls his eyes as he takes it and shoves it in his pocket. "Stay protected my dude!" Andy slurs his words in a whisper as Barry leaves to go upstairs with Gracie.

Cassidy is seen dancing as "Goth" by Sidewalks and Skeletons is heard blasting through the lodge. She sees Celia and walks over to her, "hey how are you playing music if there's no signal here?" Cassidy asks as Celia chuckles, "I had my playlist downloaded! I don't need signal!" Celia yells over the music as Cassidy smiles, "you have amazing music taste my friend." Celia smiles hearing Cassidy say that as the girls begin dancing together reliving those moments of their friendship from a year prior.

Martin walks in looking extremely anxious, Andy realizes and walks to him as it gains the attention of Cassidy and Celia as well. "You ok Martin?" Cassidy says concerned as Martin shakes his head, "I haven't gotten a text back from either Amber or Micah..I'm just worried." Martin says as Celia rolls her eyes, "that slut is probably just sucking his dick for money or something don't overthink it." Everyone's eyes widen at what Celia said as an awkward silence fills the room, "...what it's probably true don't be hating on me." Celia says shrugging as Andy sighs, "I don't think that's the reason...Martin did you really forget that there's no signal here?" Andy says as Martin chuckles, "wait you're right I totally forgot." Andy laughs, "you fucking dumbass, see nothing to worry about now come on lets party." Andy says as the group all go back to dancing and drinking.

Gracie and Barry make it upstairs and go to one of the spare bedrooms for some peace and quiet. Gracie lets out a sigh of relief as she sits on the bed, "thank god, I cannot stand drunk people when I'm sober." She giggles as Barry smiles and nods, "I totally agree with you." He says as the two smile at each other with silence between them. They then hear "Friends" by Chase Atlantic playing from downstairs as the two make eye contact, "funny this plays at this exact moment." Gracie says in a nervous giggle as Barry sighs, "Gracie I have to tell you something." He says as Gracie looks at him, "what's up Barry?" Barry looks down, "I think I-" He gets cut off by Gracie raising his face up and pressing her lips against his as the both of them share their first kiss. They kiss with passion for a bit before Barry pulls away, "I've been waiting for over a year for that to happen." He says as Gracie is clearly flustered, "I've been waiting even longer." She says back as they both press their lips on each others once more before moving further on the bed. "Do you have a..." Gracie says under her breath as Barry pulls out the condom Andy gave him as they both start to take each others clothes off.

Downstairs in the lodge Andy hears something from upstairs, "wait baby pause the music" Andy says to Celia as she listens and pauses. The group hear a bed squeaking from upstairs, "who is fucking right now?" Cassidy asks as she looks around and doesn't see either Gracie or Barry down there. "Oh my fucking god finally they did it" She says realizing as the group starts to laugh quietly so the two don't hear them. "I helped my bro with that condom!" Andy says getting on his knees and doing a peace sign towards the upstairs. "You are too nice hon" Celia says kissing him as the group collectively celebrate the two's achievement.

Suddenly, all the lights of the lodge turn off and the music stops playing. The group all look at each other confused as they hear a faint "fuck.." come from upstairs as Gracie and Barry walk out of the room to go downstairs. "Why is the power out?" Gracie says as she's visibly wearing Barry's shirt, "You two had fun didn't you?" Martin says giggling as the two get flustered. "You all heard us..?" Barry asks as the group all nod leaving him and Gracie embarrassed. Andy goes to Barry and pats his back, "that's my bro right there I'm proud of you." Andy says wiping a proud tear off his face. "Okay this is all really sweet but what about the fucking lights? does anyone know how to fix a power box?" Celia asks crossing her arms as Martin raises his hand. "I do, I learned from my dad when I was a child" He says as Celia looks at him with a blank expression. "Okay so what are you doing? go fix it before we all freeze to death? we need the heater." She says as Martin hesitates before going out of the lodge to find the power box.
"You didn't have to be harsh baby" Andy says as Celia rolls her eyes, "did you want us to freeze to death Andy?" She says as Andy shakes his head. "Exactly" Celia says chuckling knowing she's right.

It cuts to Amber in the spare cabin after she just saw Micah get grabbed. "Oh fuck, BABY!" She yells as she grabs the pistol and runs outside after him. She sees him getting dragged in the freezing snow but can't see what's dragging him. She hears his screams as she runs after him, She has no shirt on but the adrenaline is keeping her from freezing to death. She keeps running as she hears some sort of screech which didn't sound like Micah, "what the fuck is that" Amber says under her breath as she sees in the distance a leathery hand dragging Micah. She aims the pistol at the hand and shoots which she misses completely. "Fuck me!" She yells as she sprints more towards Micah as his screams are heard, "baby help me!" Amber hears his screams which she then knows she's getting closer, she decides to take a shorter route and slide down a path instead of taking the stairs. She hits her head on a rock on the way down, "OW FUCK" she says now having a huge bruise on her forehead. She makes it down and sees Micah on the ground covered in cuts and bruises. She runs to him, "baby it's okay I'm here holy fuck.." Amber says looking at his injuries as Micah is still visibly moving, just very weak. "I have to get you out of here come on" Amber says helping Micah get back on his feet as she helps him stay stable. They both hear a screech come from the trees and look up to see the leathery figure that dragged Micah. Amber looks at it terrified as she grabs the pistol and shoots it which makes the figure fall off the tree, giving them time to get out of there. "Come on baby I got you" Amber says as Micah groans in pain, "what happened Amber..." Micah asks not remembering much. "I'll tell you once we get you safe" Amber says as the two come across this wooden path, "this should get us back to the lodge baby we're almost there" Amber says holding onto Micah making sure he doesn't fall. When the two cross the wooden path it starts to creak which makes them uneasy. Once they get to the middle of it the path underneath of them caves in as they both fall through and fall into a mine. Micah lands on his back and groans loudly in pain as he looks over to Amber who hit her head due to the fall which made her unconscious. "Baby please wake up...please."

Martin makes it outside as he goes around the lodge and finds the power box. He sighs which makes him see his breath due to how cold it was. "Let's just get this done Martin you got this" He says to himself as he opens the box and notices all the wires were cut. "Who the fuck did this? this could not have been an accident" He says as he attempts to fix them. After a bit, he finally fixes the lights seeing the lodge light up again, he does a little proud pose as he starts walking back to the front entrance when he hears a screech coming from behind him. He stops in his tracks till he turns his head to see a leathery figure screech in his face. Martin starts shaking in fear as the creature grabs him by his neck and pins him against the side of the lodge. Martin screams out for help but now that the power is on, the group has music blasting. Martin kicks and punches but it doesn't do anything, the creature then grabs his hair and rips his head off, decapitating him cleanly. His body falls to the ground as the creature has his head in it's hand, blood stains the snow as the creature starts to drag the body and head with it.
