UNTIL DAWN

Chapter Nine - Lover's Rock.

4:30 am
an hour until dawn.

It shows Cassidy enter the Sanatorium once more with her machete and shotgun to keep her safe. She immediately heads to the room where she put the wolf and upon entering, she's happily greeted by the wolf. "Hey there my guy..told you I'd be back for you" She says reaching out petting the wolf as she then leaves the room with the wolf following her. Cassidy walks through the cages once more but this time a Wendigo successfully grabs her by her shirt. She reaches her shotgun up and successfully shoots the Wendigo, sending it back as her and the wolf get through without a scratch. "I should give you a name right?" Cassidy says looking at the wolf, "what about...Luna?" She says as the wolf wags her tail, "so you are a girl, I guessed right!" Cassidy says with a giggle as she pets the wolf once again. Cassidy hears a fast gust of wind go by her as she looks to see two Wendigo's jumped right past her. She looks to see them both staring straight at her as her and Luna both break out into a sprint as both Wendigo's run after them. Cassidy runs into a room with Luna and locks it, she looks to see what's in the room and immediately starts gagging. The dead bodies of Barry and Martin are there hanging, Cassidy looks at Martin and starts to tear up. "Martin, no.." She says starting to cry as Martin was closest to her, Cassidy gets her composure back once again as she hears the wendigo's breaking down the door. "Come on!" She says to Luna as she runs down a hallway as she looks around and sees multiple flammable barrels around and remembers what she read in that book earlier.

"They are immortal unless killed with fire."

Cassidy looks at her shotgun and at the barrels as she leads Luna towards the exit of the Sanatorium. With the two Wendigo's right up on them, Cassidy has limited time to go through with her plan. On her way out of the Sanatorium she pushes over a barrel of gasoline as she makes sure Luna gets out of there safe and sound. Right as the two Wendigo's lunge at her, Cassidy shoots the flammable barrel which explodes into flames sending Cassidy falling into the snow outside with Luna. Cassidy looks up at the Sanatorium which is now in flames, killing all the Wendigo's inside of it. Cassidy catches her breath as she gets up from the ground, "fucking hell." She says sighing as she starts heading back towards the lodge with Luna following her.

Back in the mines, Amber and Micah are seen running very slowly as the Wendigo is seen chasing right after them. "This way come on!" Amber yells helping Micah turn a corner where there's a wooden wall. Amber breaks through it signaling for Micah to hurry up. The outside is now finally seen but they're on a small sliver of land and any wrong move they will plummet to their deaths. Amber and Micah shimmy over to hide behind a wall and freeze not moving a muscle as the Wendigo looks around for them, not being able to sense their movement. Micah is barely able to keep himself standing as the Wendigo finally seems to be gone. "Coast is clear baby come on" Amber says holding Micahs hand helping him back inside the mines so they don't risk falling. Once back inside they both think they are safe, until the Wendigo sensed their movement and came rushing back. Before they can react in time, the Wendigo grabs Micah and screeches right in his face, holding him by his throat. "NO!" Amber screams as she raises the shovel she found up as she wacks the Wendigo making it drop Micah to the floor. Micah weakly gets back up as the Wendigo then looks at Amber and screeches loudly. Amber makes the realization this is it for her as she looks at Micah, "honey, run." She says as Micah tries to grab her hand and run but she moves her hand. "Run" she says as the Wendigo then grabs her by her throat right in front of Micah. Micah's eyes tear up as he is too weak to do anything, Amber has a agonizing scream before the Wendigo then slams her against the wall time after time again. Micah sees this and begins to run with tears running down his face. The Wendigo finally drops Amber's body which she now has blood coming out of her mouth laying limp on the ground.

Back at the lodge, it's a huge awkward silence between Celia, Andy and Gracie after Andy attempted to shoot Gracie. "I'm seriously so sorry Gracie I-" Andy tries to apologize but is cut off by Celia, "don't talk to her right now." She says glaring at him as Gracie sits there absolutely traumatized. "Alright, I'm just gonna go make sure Cassidy's okay" He says as Celia nods, "probably what's best right now." She says as Andy gets up and walks a different way out of the basement, "why did he go that way?" Gracie asks as Celia shrugs. "I have no idea" She says as she brings Gracie upstairs to the main part of the lodge until help arrives.

Andy is seen walking a different way nobody has seen before as he walks down multiple stairs which leads into...the mines. "Where the fuck am I?" He questions as he looks around and sees a very familiar face hiding in a corner. "..Micah?" Andy whispers as Micah flinches to the sound as he looks over to see Andy. Andy runs over, "holy fuck man what happened?" He asks as Micah starts to tear up, "Amber just.." He says not being able to finish his sentence as Andy's eyes widen. "Fuck man...I'm so sorry" He says as they both then hear screeching coming towards them, "Dude come on we need to go like now." Andy says helping Micah up as multiple Wendigo's are seen now following them towards the lodge.

Cassidy makes it to the lodge and gets through the front door as she then sees Celia and Gracie frozen in place as she looks around to see multiple Wendigo's all over the place as she then sees Micah and Andy rush through the basement door with other Wendigo's following them.
