UNTIL DAWN

Chapter Eight - The Infected.

3:30 am.

It shows Cassidy, Celia, and Andy walking towards the lodge as Cassidy tells the story about what happened to her. "There was this note and when I attempted to grab it, the bear trap closed on my fingers so I..really had no other choice." She says looking at her injured hand as the three continue to walk, "fuck Cass I'm just glad you're okay." Celia says smiling as Cassidy gives her a quick smile back, "did you find anything else?" Andy asks as Cassidy turns her head towards him. "A book, explaining how these things coming after us are called Wendigos and how we can turn into them" Cassidy explains as a shiver goes down Celia and Andy's spine hearing that. "That's so fucking terrifying Jesus Christ" Celia says as Andy nods in agreement. "Yeah well I have a machete and a shotgun so stay by me if you want to live" Cassidy says in a chuckle as the other two nod their heads continuing to walk. Stumbling upon the lodge they see a ton of blood splatters leading up to Barry's corpse. "Oh my fucking god-" Celia says before going to the side to throw up at the sight of Barry's now deformed face. "Holy fucking shit..." Andy says cupping his hand over his mouth as Cassidy just stares in shock. "Get into the lodge, quick it's not safe out here" Cassidy says as she attempts to go through the front door but it's still locked due to Gracie locking Barry out earlier. "Fuck..try the back door, go now!" Cassidy yells as Celia and Andy rush with her to the back door which is luckily still unlocked. The three successfully get inside obviously traumatized after the tragedy they just saw, "where the fuck is everyone else, shit..." Andy says holding his head in his hands, stressed out. Celia rubs his back to comfort him as Cassidy pauses, hearing footsteps coming from the basement. "Guys.." Cassidy whispers as Andy and Celia look over to her with them also hearing the footsteps. Cassidy opens the basement door holding up her shotgun as she slowly walks down with Andy and Celia right behind her. Cassidy makes it down and sees someone and without thinking she places her finger on the trigger....

"DON'T SHOOT DON'T SHOOT!" Gracie screams holding her hands up as Cassidy sighs out of relief before putting her gun down. "How the fuck are you alive? Barry told us you died?" Celia asks as she runs up and hugs Gracie. "Well he dropped me into the fucking mines that's what he did...I had to fight for my life down there." She says hugging Celia back as Andy looks at them, "do you know that Barry's...?" He asks as Gracie nods her head. "Mhm, I saw it." She says with a cold tone as Cassidy gives her a sympathetic look, "shit Gracie I'm so sorry." She says as Gracie gives her a small smile. The group walks more into the basement and sit down to talk about their next moves. "Where the fuck could Amber and Micah be?" Cassidy asks looking at everyone, "probably stuck in the mines as well." Gracie says still shaken up by the events that just occurred towards her, "it's a nightmare down there." She continues as the other three look at her, "do you think it'd be a good idea for us to look for them and go back down there?" Andy asks as Gracie nods, "I barely got through that hell I just went through god knows what they're going through right now." She says as they all nod in agreement to make a plan to find them, "wait, Gracie what's that?" Celia stands up pointing at Gracie's shoulder which has a huge cut from the Wendigo, "holy fuck Gracie is that from the.." Cassidy says looking as Gracie starts to look at them panicking. "No, no it's nothing really it doesn't hurt it's just what I got from being chased by one it's just a scratch-" She says getting cut off by Andy grabbing Cassidy's shotgun and pointing it at Gracie. Gracie screams being absolutely terrified as she huddles into a corner putting her hands up, "please Andy no! let me explain!" Gracie pleads as Cassidy then remembers that in order to turn, it needs to be a bite not a scratch. "Andy she's not going to turn put the gun down-" Cassidy tries to explain as Andy pushes her away, "I am not letting this bitch turn and kill us all Cass!" Andy says putting his finger on the trigger as he feels a push on him which makes him mess up his aim and drop the gun. "What the fuck?" Andy turns to see that Celia pushed him, "are you fucking serious? shooting her over this shit? Cassidy just said she wasn't going to turn!" Celia yells as Andy yells back, "well I didn't know! we could've died for all we fucking know Celia!" Andy screams back, "I thought I knew you Andy, knew you well enough to not be a fucking asshole but I guess I was wrong." Celia says as the group all hear a slapping noise, they look to see that Celia slapped Andy. "Fuck you Andy" Celia says before turning to see Gracie absolutely hysterically crying in the corner as she helps her up and wraps her arms around her in a tight hug. "Hey, hey it's okay" Celia says as Gracie cries in her shoulder, Celia holds up her middle finger towards Andy. Cassidy snatches her gun back, "I'm going back to the Sanatorium." She says as she exits the basement leaving the other three alone.

It cuts to Amber and Micah all alone in the deep mines, "come on baby" Amber says helping Micah keep up with her as she tries to find a way out of this hell her and Micah are in. "Amber I can't go on for much longer, I'm just slowing you down" Micah says as Amber shakes her head. "Absolutely not I'm staying with you, now come on" She says as both of them continue down this path as they come across a shovel which Amber grabs. "Extra protection for us I guess" She says smiling trying to cheer Micah up as he looks at her. "If we don't make it out of here I love you pretty girl" Micah says with low hopes since they are both lost. "Baby what..don't even say that shit okay? I love you and we'll get out of here." Micah smiles hearing that come from her as they kiss each other once more. "I love you Amber" Micah says, "I love you Micah." The two share a moment before hearing a very nearby screech as they turn around and see a Wendigo staring right back at them. "Baby...run" Amber says as she helps Micah run with her as the Wendigo screeches and follows them.
