XVIII part one - on his mind

I'd like to say I'm sorry for last chapter I know it would definitely impact some people but I never thought how hard it would. I lost an uncle to cancer but I never knew him too well I'm really sorry for anyone I hurt ❤️

Alexus's POV
I woke up to a loud banging on the door from downstairs, but was too lazy to get up so I let Granny get it. "Oh hello Lachlan." I hear her greet. Lachlan? At 8 am in the morning? Wow. "Merry Christmas Eve." She tells him and he mumbles a small response I couldn't understand.

After them talking a bit more I hear a knock on my door. Ugh it's too early in the morning for this crap. I turn my head away from the door and he must've heard because he opens the door slightly. Thank God for once that our doors creaked when they're opened.

"Alex?" He whispers his voice a level above a whisper. I sigh and turn around seeing him with worried eyes standing in pajama pants and a grey t-shirt.
"Lachlan, its frecking 8 am. I'm sorry but I'm cranky. What do you want?" I lean up propping myself against the head board rubbing my eyes hoping to wake up a tiny bit even though I definitely plan on going back to sleep.

"I had a bad dream. I dreamt you got... hurt and I needed to make sure you were alright. I tried throwing rocks at your window but you wouldn't answer." He states and I smile at his small frown.
"I appreciate your concern, Lachlan." I tell him and his lips curve up slightly forming a very small smile.

He sits on the edge on the bed next to me looking down at the ground. Something was definitely on his mind. "Uh. Merry Christmas Eve." He tells me quickly not bothering to look at me.
"Merry Christmas Eve." There was a long silence between us before he speaks up.

"Can I ask something?" He asks me and I nod.
"You can ask me anything Lachlan." I consume him patting shoulder in a friendly way.
"Okay. I'm really nervous, but would you like to go out with me?"
