(Still in third I'm trying to make my writing style more vast)
Lachlan zipped up his suitcase saying goodbye and Merry Christmas to his Aunt and Uncle before leaving the house. They had exchanged gifts earlier, but the only gift Lachlan wanted was to see a smile on Alex's face. He felt bad about making her cry, but he needed to give her space. He wasn't expecting anything over the next 5 months since Alex wasn't a very social person anyway.
He put his bag in the back of his car and was about to get in before someone cleared their throat in front of him. He looked up seeing Alex in a much better state than she was earlier. "Hey, um I just wanted to say... I'm sorry. I never meant to blow up its just sometimes my emotions get the better of me." She blushes looking at the ground.
"Don't worry about. I totally understand 100%." He states patting her back awkwardly."Clean slate?" She asks arching an eyebrow.
"Clean slate." He confirms. (*cough maybe clean slate will be our always cough*)"I didn't really want to bring this up, but I guess I should. I really want to go out with you Lachlan, but I'm not sure. Something in my gut is telling me no. You've made me feel different than anyone else, Lachlan. I'm just not sure how to classify them just yet. Give me some time. I'll find out."
"I'll always wait for you Alexus. I promise. I always will." He hugs her tightly and she tenses for a second before melting into it hugging him back .They pull away after a second and she smiles.
"Merry Christmas Little Lachy." She grins.
"Merry Christmas Alex." He responds with a similar one before getting into his car and driving down the road watching the small street he's come to love disappear behind the trees.4 1/2 months later
Alex's hand skims along the spine of the books in the library searching for the one she's looking for. Lachlan was coming soon and she had to know what her feelings were towards him before then. All of the sudden her phone buzzes in her pocket and she gets it out seeing the text is from Lachlan. She reads it seeing it say,
Can we talk when you get the chance
- Lachlan xoxoAfter almost every text Lachlan sent through the months the small "xoxo" which made her smile seeing it. But her thoughts are rudely interrupted by others pondering what he could be talking about. He obviously needed to talk over the phone or Skype, and she didn't think the librarian would appreciate her taking a call in an area that is supposed to quiet. She quickly found two books on "love," making sure it wasn't the dirty kind, and checking them out.
She got home and put her books up going to her room to Skype Lachlan. After a second his face pops up with a smile. "Hey. What ya need Little Lachy?" She asks a smirk playingon her lips.
"I needed to ask you something." He sighs clapping his hands together with a smirk."Anything."
"Okay so my graduation is coming up. Would you and your grandma like to come?"
"Wow, Lachlan. I never thought you'd ever graduate. Congrats!" She jokes and he just rolls his eyes playfully."Well..." he pauses knocking on his wooden desk, (I'll explain if I need to) "still got a few weeks. Always room for mistakes." She laughs slightly thinking of ways Lachlan could screw it up. "Anyways do you guys think you all could come? Fiona and Paul are coming."
"Uhhh it depends the date but I'm pretty sure we're both free most days. Sydney isn't a long drive right?""No. Maybe just a few hours. Two or so." She nods in response.
"Well, I'll ask Granny and get back to you on this. Anything else, Little Lachy." He grits his teeth in response before saying,
"I just can't come up with any food nicknames for you. Like seriously. Alexus is so hard!" He whines and she chuckles spinning around in her chair starting to get dizzy."Good luck with that, Lachy." He rolls his eyes in a playful manner with a small grin.
"Hopefully I'll see you soon." He smiles his eyes more vibrant shade of blue.
"Yeah, hopefully. I'll talk to you soon." She's about to sign off before Lachlan says a small,
"Love you," making her stomach erupt with butterflies and she smiles at him logging off of skype.A/N
The book should be ending soon...
