Quick A/N:
If this book hits 20K before I end it I'll scream
Note: Sorry if I said Lachlan's car was something other than red I forget the details of my books sometimes

Today was the day. Lachlan was coming back for the summer and I was really excited. We've maintained a long distance relationship even we live only an hour away from each other. I still had school and he had to work out collage work, but now we've finished it and he's coming for the summer.

The anticipation was hard to control as I sat on the bench looking out the window looking for the familiar red truck. My stomach holds butterflies once I see headlight usually followed by a different random car, but each one just makes me more anxious.

After a few minutes a pair of headlights come up on a red truck making me immediately get up and walk out the door. I spent a few hours on my appearance even though it doesn't look like I did anything. Mainly because eyeliner is kind of hard. I just did concealer, mascara, and eyeliner. Also I curled my hair and pinned it up along the side of my hair. My outfit wasn't much. Just jean shorts and a tucked in t-shirt , but this was my favorite outfit with my brown sandals.

The truck pulls up to the house across the street and I run across just in time to dam into the person getting out. "I missed you so much!" I mumble into his shirt as he hugs me back.
"Me too." He chuckles a little pulling away and kissing me quickly. He grabs his bag and takes it in letting me follow him and sits on his bed. I sit next to him taking his hand and holding it.

"I was thinking we could have a date tonight." He smiles and I nod wanting to have the date. "Then lets go." He pulls me up making me laugh and we run out the door.

We ended up just walking around town since it was late and nothing was open, but we were okay with that. The street lights dimly lit the road casting a beautiful light that made the town seem more lively than it actually was since we were the only ones here.

I imagined what it would be like during the day. Kids would be playing with their footballs (soccer balls) and doing hand games while adults would hustle to work and couples would sit on park benches holding hands and saying sweet nothings, but this was nice. Maybe even better.

We had this area just to ourselves and it was amazing. The yellow glow casted a beautiful glow on his skin that made him more beautiful. "This town is beautiful." Lachlan says smiling.
"It really is." I respond. He grabs my hand holding it into his swinging our arms back and fourth.

He looks at me beaming a bright grin and I respond with one too. I've never realized how lucky I was to have him until now. "The stars are beautiful." I mumble as we sit on a bench. He doesn't respond instead just looks up.
"Come on." He gets up and grabs my hand.
"Where are we going?" I ask as we approach his car.
"It's a surprise."

We ended up in front of his house. "Is this the surprise?" I ask trying to hide the disappointment in my voice. I'm not too sure what I was expecting, but definitely not this.

"Nope." He says popping the p and getting out of the car. I do the same and meet him in front of the car. "Close your eyes." He commands.

"Why?" Ever since I was little I've had trust issues.  Not sure how they started, that was just who I was.
"Don't worry. I'll make sure you won't get hurt." He wraps his arms around my torso resting his head on my shoulder so I can feel his hot breath on the edge of my ear. For some reason I felt strangely safe and warm with his chest against my back so I close my eyes.

"Are we almost there?" I ask after awhile, but it felt like eternity.
"Nope." He states making me let out a huff.
"How much longer?"
"I'm not sure." He responds laughing a little making me roll my eyes even though he couldn't see.

"I'm a visual learner Lachlan. I never keep my eyes closed this long unless I'm sleeping." I mutter making him laugh.
"You're so cute when you're angry." He smiles and I feel his lips kiss my cheek making me blush.
"Whatever you nugget." (This is dedicated to my group of irl friends 😂)

"Aye. Rude."
"You're rude."
"Great comebacks. 8/8 m8." The sarcasm was evident from his sentence that was 3/5 numbers which made me grin.

The only sound was a faint hoot from an owl in the distance and the soft breeze rustling the leaves. I can imagine the trees flowing with the wind making some leave fall to the ground. The books I've read can probably describe it better than I can which also made me wonder where Lachlan could be taking me. I mean it shouldn't be that hard to figure it out. I've known this town longer than he has, but I didn't want to ruin the surprise for me or the moment for him.

"We're here."
