My heart races as I hear the water in the distance. There is so much I don't understand. A few days ago, at the trials Leo made a comment about just noticing me. Suddenly he claims his wanted me for years.
Alpha Ethan said the Eclipse pack was still a large threat, Nate claims him and Tristan are not like their father, and their father is dead.
There are so many holes in the stories of everyone around me.
I want to give Leo & Nate peace. I don't want to hurt or lead either one on.
Meanwhile Aurora is whimpering in my head. Unable to bare the thought of rejecting her mate.
Aurora's pain is my pain. Our hearts breaking as one.
Aiden could never accept Nate, and I could never ask him too. His face would be a constant reminder of all he had lost.
But rejecting Nate doesn't mean I should just accept Leo. I barely know him. My hormones are pushing me to choose someone. To mate. To satisfy my heat.
This is how our species survives.
Succumb. Fall pregnant. Pro-create.
What am I doing?
I am pushing myself forward to Aiden knowing Leo is there. Knowing I have no answers for him. Creating more pain.
I don't even understand why Leo wants me. It has to be because of my abilities. That it would strengthen his pack. He knows nothing about who I am. Until after my visit with Selena there was no bond. All he knew was my power.
I feel Aiden's emotions. A slight fuzziness around his pain as the alcohol numbs his emotions. I hear them talking as I approach, knowing I hear them before they hear me.
"She is going to pick him" Leo's sadness echoing in his voice. "It's up to her Leo, the mate bond is powerful. We have to let her be happy" Aiden's voice breaks. "They don't deserve her" Leo growls, "That pack has always been evil. They do whatever they can to gain power. It wasn't just their father. You know what those boys have done Aiden. Yet you hide it from her" Jensen's voice blending with Leo's as he pushes for control.
I freeze. Not wanting them to know I'm coming. Aiden is hiding things from me. Again. I need to know what.
Aiden growls, "They were children Leo, their father may have forced them" his voice a mix of anger and sadness. "Rape is rape Aiden, we all heard that rouge. She told us what was happening in their dungeons. We did nothing as we knew our pack would be eliminated, but we all heard her words. The way the girls were treated. You want that for Armina?" Leo's voice slurs as Aiden starts to speak. I don't hear what is said as Aurora's heart breaks, forcing our body to change as my paws hit the ground and a heartbreaking howl pierces the night sky.
'AURORA STOP' I demand as I feel where she is going. She is furious at Leo, at Aiden, at Nate, at all of them. But she's going to who is closest.
She doesn't respond. No coherant thought in our mind from her. Only instinct. With our speed we reach him in moments as she pounces on Aiden knocking him to the ground.
His sluggish as his eyes widen and he realises what has happened. "Aurora, Armina I can explain" his voice sobering instantly.
She ignores his plea, rushing forward and biting his arm. Hard. Aiming to hurt him for the first time ever. Not hard enough to cause serious damage, but showing her dominance.
Leo jumps up, his eyes widening as he takes in my size and white/silvery fur. Aurora is a beautiful wolf. He shakes his head and tries to reach for me, Aurora kicks, sending him flying as she tackles Aiden to the ground. Growling in his face.
His eyes sad as he reaches and wraps his arms around her. Not in anger. I feel his emotion. Sorrow. Nothing but sorrow.
Aurora sighs. Allowing me to shift.
"Why didn't you tell me?" I demand. Rape. The most disgusting thing any man can do. The way Tristan had tried to force himself on me. How many women had he done that to?
The thought makes me sick. Nate to. The men meant for me. Rapist. How could the moon goddess do this to me.
Aiden shakes his head sadly. "I didn't know what to say Armina, the reports stopped years ago and the men were only boys. It didn't sound like it was their will" "I deserved to know the moment I found out they were my mates Aiden. You shouldn't have hidden this" Aiden nods. "We haven't had time to go over everything, this has all just been..." Aiden shakes his head defeated.
I move off of him, allowing him space to stand. His right. It's been a year of events passing in a day.
It's all too much.
"I want to know everything you know about them". I look to a stunned Leo who is developing a large welt on his head where Aurora kicked him. "Both of you".
