I stare into the eyes of the man before me.
His fierce bright blue eyes. My eyes move around his face. Seeing my own features reflected.
"Your Shayne?" I ask my voice shaking.
He nods slowly. A kind smile filling his face.
"A friend of yours sought me out. He told me I had a daughter. I didn't believe him until he showed me a photo" he moved closer to me.
A feeling of calm filling every part of me as he gently touched my face. An instant connection, so I know he tells the truth. This is him.
"A friend?" Tristan asks; taking my hand in his.
"Yes a friend" a familiar voice sounds, instantly causing Tristan and Aiden to growl.
Leo stands into the clearing. His eyes darting to his dead brother on the ground with a broken expression before he gathers himself.
"Wow, calm down" Shayne looks to Tristan, a slight look of pride in his protectiveness. "He wanted to help, he knew what his father was up too" Leo nods. Moving closer to me as Tristan watches closely.
"I'm sorry, Armina. I never knew he'd act like this. I knew he had his own issues with Eclipse, but I never thought he'd go so far" his voice breaks.
My heart skips a beat. Leo cares. He went against his own family. I offer him a smile, while leaning closer to Tristan to ensure he didn't feel jealous. I know how hard this would be for him.
Leo smiles in return. His eyes looking to Tristan.
"I want peace with our packs Alpha Tristan" Leo says with respect. "With my father's arrest and I'm sure execution I will take leadership of Blood Moon. I ask that you don't punish the pack for the actions of its leader. Several of my Elite Warriors came here to fight against the onslaught that was brought here. Including myself. I ask for mercy, and request that we work towards a partnership" he turns to Aiden.
"I'm sorry for what happened, you are always welcome back at Blood Moon Beta, or if you chose to stay here, no harm will come to you from us" he nods.
Aiden nods in agreement. "I'm where I belong" Leo nods.
Tristan looks to me before back to Leo.
"I leave this decision to my more than capable Luna. I think we all know she's the real authority here" Shayne smiles, nodding in agreement.
This was unheared of. No Alpha gave his authority fully to his Luna. Every part of me wanted to be alone with him. A primal desire filling me as I want nothing more than to pounce on him. However, being in the company of warriors, both of my father's and Leo I push it aside.
"The Blood Moon pack members who did not side with their leader shall not be punished. Those who came here to shed blood will be questioned and their guilt will be determined based on their intentions and whether they were forced into coming here. As for the alliance, I believe in Alpha Leo and that he desires peace. I accept your proposal for a treaty, and future correspondence and cooperation between our packs" Leo's face instantly fills with relief.
"I admire your compassion Armina" Shayne smiles. "You will need allies now more than ever" his smile fading as he looks to Tristan. "A destiny wolf is not something the Lycans ever wanted to return, this is a direct threat to their leadership" he looks back to me. "You are strong; your power unknown, and you're mated to the alphas of the largest known pack, this spells trouble for them. Luckily; I've got some allies of my own, and they are all making their way here" he smiles.
"I've been working with some of the largest packs in the North, assisting with their requests of the royal family. They are loyal to me. Which now means they are loyal to you my daughter, " he bows in submission.
Aiden stays silent. I feel the anxiety and sadness coming from him as he watches the exchange.
Shayne picks up on this and turns to Aiden. "You must be Aiden, I've heard alot about you. I owe you everything. I don't come here to take your spot in Armina's life. You raised her, and from what I've heard and seen, you've done an amazing job. I hope we can have peace between us also" Shayne offers his hand.
Aiden takes his hand as the men shake. "Would you like to join me in Ethan's interegation?" Aiden smiles darkly.
