The night was calm, the only sounds being the occasional rustle of leaves and the distant chirping of crickets. The camp had settled into a peaceful silence, with everyone resting after a day of intense training. I lay in my tent, staring up at the fabric ceiling, my mind replaying the day's events. Just as I was beginning to drift off, a sense of unease washed over me, like a cold breeze in the dead of night.
Something was wrong.
I sat up, listening intently. The night was too quiet. It was then that I heard it – faint footsteps, rustling, and then a hushed voice.
"Stay alert. We can't afford to mess this up."
The League of Villains.
My heart raced as I quickly and quietly got to my feet, slipping out of the tent without making a sound. I glanced around the camp, seeing a few shadows moving in the moonlight. They were spreading out, trying to surround us.
I had to warn the others.
I moved swiftly, ducking between tents and staying low. I reached Tokoyami's tent first and shook him awake. His eyes snapped open, and he immediately understood the situation without needing an explanation.
"Alert the others," I whispered. "We have company."
He nodded and slipped out, moving toward Shoji's tent. I continued, waking Jiro and Momo, then heading toward the central campfire where Aizawa-sensei usually kept watch.
"Aizawa-sensei," I whispered urgently as I approached. He was already alert, his eyes scanning the surroundings.
"I sensed it too," he said, his voice low but firm. "Get the students to safety. I'll handle this."
I nodded, but something in his expression told me he wasn't underestimating the threat. This wasn't a simple ambush – the League of Villains was here for a reason, and they were prepared.
As I turned to head back to the others, a sudden explosion rocked the camp, sending flames and debris into the air. Panic erupted as students scrambled out of their tents, confusion and fear spreading like wildfire.
"Stick together!" I shouted over the chaos, trying to keep my group calm. "We need to move!"
We gathered quickly, Tokoyami, Shoji, Jiro, and Momo falling into formation. The sounds of battle were already echoing through the forest, Aizawa-sensei and the other teachers engaging the villains.
"Head to the designated safe zone," I instructed, my voice steady despite the adrenaline coursing through me. "Stay close and watch each other's backs."
We moved as a unit, navigating the darkened forest with careful precision. The sounds of fighting grew louder, flashes of light and bursts of energy illuminating the trees. My mind raced, analyzing the situation and formulating a plan.
Suddenly, a figure appeared in our path, blocking our escape. He was tall and imposing, with a manic grin that sent chills down my spine.
"Well, well, what do we have here?" the villain sneered, his eyes gleaming with malicious intent. "A bunch of fledgling heroes out for a midnight stroll?"
"Get ready," I muttered to my group, my body tensing as I prepared to fight.
Tokoyami unleashed Dark Shadow, the shadowy figure roaring to life and charging at the villain. Jiro's Earphone Jacks extended, ready to strike, while Momo began creating a weapon. Shoji's multiple arms bristled with tension, prepared to defend.
The villain laughed, raising his hand to summon a wall of flames. "Let's see what you've got, kids!"
I didn't wait for him to make the first move. Using my force manipulation, I created a gravitational pull to destabilize his stance, then followed up with a burst of electromagnetism, sending metal fragments flying toward him.
