The days following the internship were filled with routine hero classes and training, but an unsettling tension hung in the air. News of the Hero Killer Stain had spread like wildfire, his brutal attacks on pro heroes leaving the entire city on edge. Despite the heightened alert, I maintained my cold composure, focusing on my training and studies.
One evening, I found myself patrolling a section of Hosu City as part of my internship duties. The streets were eerily quiet, the usual hustle and bustle replaced by an unsettling stillness. My instincts told me something was off, and I remained vigilant, scanning my surroundings for any sign of danger.
A sudden noise caught my attention—a cry for help. I immediately moved toward the sound, my senses on high alert. As I turned a corner, I saw Tenya Iida, one of my classmates, struggling against a menacing figure. It was Stain, the Hero Killer.
Iida's eyes widened as he saw me. "Mori! Get out of here! It's too dangerous!"
Ignoring his warning, I stepped forward, assessing the situation. Stain's menacing presence was palpable, his bloodlust evident in his cold, calculating eyes. He held his katana with a deadly precision, ready to strike.
Before I could react, another figure appeared—Shoto Todoroki. His arrival brought a brief sense of relief, knowing we had a better chance against Stain with his powerful quirk.
"Iida, what are you doing here?" Shoto asked, his voice calm but stern.
"I came to avenge my brother," Iida replied, his voice filled with determination. "Stain must be stopped."
Stain chuckled darkly. "Another wannabe hero seeking revenge. How predictable."
Without another word, Stain lunged at Iida, his blade glinting in the dim light. I moved quickly, intercepting the attack with a swift kick, sending Stain back a few steps. Shoto followed up with a blast of ice, creating a barrier between us and Stain.
"We need to work together," I said coldly, my eyes locked on Stain. "This isn't a fight we can win alone."
Shoto nodded, his expression serious. "Agreed."
Iida, though hesitant, joined our formation. "Fine. Let's take him down."
Stain smirked, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "Let's see what you've got."
The battle commenced with a flurry of movements. Stain was fast, his agility and combat skills honed to perfection. He weaved through our attacks with ease, his blade striking with deadly precision. But we were not without our own strengths.
Shoto used his ice to create barriers and his fire to launch powerful attacks, forcing Stain to constantly adjust his position. Iida's speed allowed him to evade Stain's strikes and land quick hits, though they were not enough to seriously harm the Hero Killer.
I analyzed Stain's movements, looking for patterns and weaknesses. It became clear that his strength lay in his unpredictability and his ability to paralyze his opponents with his quirk, Bloodcurdle. We had to avoid getting cut at all costs.
In a coordinated effort, Shoto launched a massive wave of ice toward Stain, forcing him to leap into the air. Iida and I took this opportunity to strike from opposite sides. Iida aimed for Stain's legs, while I targeted his midsection with a powerful kick.
Stain deflected Iida's attack but was unable to block mine completely. My kick connected with his ribs, sending him crashing into a nearby wall. He quickly recovered, but the brief moment of vulnerability was enough for Shoto to trap him in a thick layer of ice.
"Now!" Shoto shouted, signaling for us to move in.
Iida and I charged at Stain, ready to deliver the finishing blow. But Stain, with a fierce determination, shattered the ice with a surge of strength. He retaliated with a swift slash, cutting through Iida's leg armor and grazing my arm.
