The morning sun cast a soft glow over the city as I made my way to Edge Shot's agency. The streets were bustling with activity, a stark contrast to the calm determination I felt inside. Today was the first day of my internship, and I was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

Arriving at the agency, I found the other interns already gathered in the main training area. They greeted me with polite nods, but I kept my distance, preferring to observe rather than engage in small talk. Edge Shot stood at the front, his presence commanding attention without effort.

"Good morning," Edge Shot began, his voice steady and authoritative. "Today, we will focus on honing your strategic thinking and adaptability in various scenarios. Remember, a hero must be able to think on their feet and adapt to any situation."

He divided us into teams, assigning each group a specific scenario to tackle. My team consisted of three other interns—none of whom I recognized from U.A. High School. It didn't matter; I was here to learn, not to make friends.

Our scenario involved a simulated rescue mission in a collapsed building. Edge Shot provided us with minimal information, forcing us to assess the situation and formulate a plan on the spot. As we donned our gear and prepared to enter the simulation, I took the lead, quickly analyzing the layout and potential hazards.

"Focus on clearing debris and creating a safe path," I instructed, my voice cold and precise. "We need to reach the victims as quickly as possible. I'll handle the structural integrity and reinforce weak points."

The others nodded, following my lead without question. We moved efficiently, clearing rubble and stabilizing precarious sections of the building. My analytical mind worked overtime, calculating the best approach to each obstacle. It was a stark contrast to the chaotic and unpredictable nature of real-world rescues, but it was excellent practice.

Halfway through the simulation, we encountered a particularly challenging section—a narrow passage blocked by heavy debris. I assessed the situation, formulating a plan to clear the blockage without compromising the structure.

"Brace the left side and remove the smaller pieces first," I directed. "Once it's stable, we'll shift the larger chunks."

As we worked, I noticed one of my teammates struggling with a piece of debris. Without a word, I stepped in, helping to lift and move it aside. The task required more physical effort than I anticipated, but we managed to clear the path.

"Good work," I said curtly, moving on to the next task. There was no time for praise or camaraderie—our priority was the mission.

By the time we reached the simulated victims, I was covered in dust and sweat, but our path was clear and stable. We carefully extracted the victims, ensuring their safety as we made our way back to the starting point. Edge Shot observed from a distance, his expression unreadable.

When we completed the simulation, Edge Shot gathered us for feedback. "You handled the scenario well," he said, his tone even. "Your strategic thinking and quick decision-making were commendable. However, remember that effective teamwork is crucial. Rely on your teammates and communicate clearly."

I nodded, absorbing his words. While I preferred to work alone, I understood the importance of teamwork in hero work. It was a lesson I would need to embrace, despite my solitary nature.

The rest of the day was spent in various training exercises, each designed to challenge our strategic and physical capabilities. Edge Shot's approach was relentless, pushing us to our limits and beyond. By the time the day ended, I was exhausted but satisfied with my progress.

As I left the agency, I felt a sense of accomplishment. The first day had been grueling, but it was exactly what I needed to refine my skills and prepare for the challenges ahead. The path of a hero was never easy, but I was ready to face it head-on, no matter the cost.
