And I'm all mixed up, feeling cornered and rushed

They say it's my fault but I want her so much

Want to fly her away where the sun and rain

Come in over my face, wash away all the shame

When they stop and stare, don't worry me

'Cause I'm feeling for her what she's feeling for me'

I can try to pretend, I can try to forget

But it's driving me mad, going out of my head

A few weeks ago, I once again felt that familiar chill as I walked alone down the corridors, as if ice was sliding over my skin and bees were buzzing in my ears. The shadows seemed to have claws, and the walls whispered. With every sound, I turned sharply, peering around.

My stalker is growing bolder. Before, I could only sense his presence; now, he leaves gifts.

On Wednesday, after History of Magic class, I found a red rose on my bed, the thorns carefully trimmed. I felt my heart pound against my ribs, almost painfully fast.

At first, I thought it might be from Narcissa. I was elated as I carefully picked up the flower, inhaling its sweet, intense fragrance.

I always leave magical daffodils on her bed when I return from the Forbidden Forest, as a gesture of affection. Naively, I thought she might have discovered this and was reciprocating the gesture. But when I asked her, the confusion on her face told me everything.

It wasn’t Narcissa. Someone had entered my dormitory and left without being noticed. The idea of someone violating my personal space left me deeply unsettled. It was hard to carry on with the constant feeling of being pursued.

The uncertainty consumed me, and I no longer had the courage to tell anyone, as I was always labelled mad whenever I mentioned it.

“Maybe it’s just paranoia,” said Alice. “Just like that time you thought Narcissa was following you.”

“But Narcissa really was following me,” I retorted, annoyed.

“I still think you’re paranoid,” Alice insisted.

Professor McGonagall opened the classroom door at that moment, interrupting our conversation, and I felt a wave of relief. I was so upset with Alice for dismissing my concerns that I glared at her.

I spent the rest of the class in silence, almost regretting not partnering with Narcissa again. I would surely have a better grade if I were with her, as Narcissa is the best student in Transfiguration.

“Oi, Potter,” I heard a whistle behind me. With a precise blow, Narcissa sent something bird-shaped in my direction. I turned just in time to see a paper origami hit my forehead. Grimacing, I bent down to pick it up from the floor, trying not to smile.
