So, I can freely post and talk about Deltarune Chapter 3 here now and decided to draw Tenna. He gets shoulder pads because they fit with how cartoony he looks. Will I simp for this dude? I don't think I will. But I will say he's already one of my faves now. His lore and history with the Dreemurrs and Holidays in Deltarune just hit me, man. It sucked when the Knight slashed his arms off like some kind of budget Mettaton. I haven't seen the entirety of Chapter 4 yet. I have seen Chapter 3 fully and I am currently trying to finish it myself. I just have to S-Rank the second board and get to the secret boss.
Also, I enjoyed the soundtrack for Chapter 3. I wish I could've enjoyed the gameplay itself a little more because it feels incomplete. It feels too short in comparison to the previous two chapters. There's still plenty of lore that mostly involves Tenna, Shadow Mantle Mini, and the Knight as well as their relationships with other characters such as Spamton, Kris, Asriel, and their parents. But the only way to find this lore is to S-Rank both boards in the gameshow, which is hard to do. If you don't get the S-Rank, you have to close the game without saving after the board and try again. If you hate having to retry something until you get it right, this will break you. I'm only doing it because I'm more interested in completing the game and finding all the lore for fanworks and theories.
Do I hate Chapter 3? No, I'll tell you why. The soundtrack, character designs and development, lore, and secrets make up for the gameplay problems and overall length of the chapter. The pacing and gameplay don't throw me off enough for me to say it's a bad game. I can only hope Chapter 4 can help me see it in a different light, considering there will be more lore and secrets in it and potentially getting to see Tenna back on the scene.
Anyway, I definitely think Toby did great once again. Despite the small problems, Chapter 3 is still pretty fun. I will forever have Tenna's iconic phrase engraved in my memory along with that goofy face of his. Maybe I should charge him for living there. Freeloaders aren't allowed. Not even in my head.
