backstory:

In life, Enya's full legal name was Ainthe Revoire. Born in 1893 to a Filipino mother and a French father, Ainthe grew up in a circus. Her parents were part of a traveling circus - specifically, The Stardust Spectacle Circus. So, of course, she was also apart of that. She learned tricks and how to charm an audience, developing a specific interest in tricks involving fire. Her father was originally the one in the circus, then on a stop in South Carolina, he met her mother. A wonderful woman with Filipino heritage - she somehow managed to flee her country, though how she did it remained a blur to her. She joined the circus with the help of his recommendation. A few years passed, then, they received the news - she was pregnant with a baby girl. They decided to name her Ainthe, meaning fire, because they wanted her to burn bright akin to a flame. Ainthe grew up in the circus, until early spring of 1906. She was 12, turning 13 on November 17, at that time. Her parents decided to finally settle down, wanting her to have at least a 'normal' teenage life. They settled down at the circus's last stop, and her father's hometown, New Orleans.

Ainthe was regularly faced with insults, piercing stares, and bullying - a result of both her race and gender. She often felt outcasted and inferior, which led to her developing strange hobbies to cope. Her parents would often find her dissecting a frog - or any small creature she would chance upon. It was concerning, and after they found her doing it a third time, they talked to her about her behavior. She then continued her hobby in a more discreet manner.

In her early adulthood, from 18 until 20, she worked a multitude of part-time jobs to keep herself financially steady. Ranging from being a waitress, a domestic worker, a sales clerk, and a tutor. Then, in 1913, she decided to try her chances at being a vaudeville performer, given her past as a circus performer and it being the most popular form of live entertainment in America at that time.

death- She eventually meets her end in 1930 when tinkering with a faulty radio late at night. Ainthe had a fondness for jazz music, and likes to listen to it on the radio late at night. The radio had recently developed a troubling habit of crackling with static and emitting an unsettling scent of burnt rubber. She remembers her father teaching her how to fix a problem like this back in 1923, surely it'll be easy, right? A spark jumps, momentarily illuminating the room, and she jolts back in surprise. She watches as it ignites the piled-up newspaper nearby, and, for a moment, regrets leaving it there. The thought quickly leaves her mind as she blinks once - twice, and suddenly she is surrounded by flames. Her breathing fastens to the point she's hyperventilating, and she eventually passes on in the midst of the very thing she was named after.
