Charles ❤️
"She just left for the airport, half an hour ago," Mia said sympathetically."What?" I said, feeling sinking in my chest.
"She decided to leave early because of the rains," she explained softly.
"Wait, you guys didn't say goodbye?" she asked, concerned evident in her voice.
"No," I admitted my voice pain. "Is there anything anything you can tell her anything I can do?"
Mia hesitated, knowing how much this meant to me. "I'm sorry, Charles. It's too late. She's gone."
I stood there, feeling the weight of missed opportunities and unsaid words pressing down on me. Every moment with Jules flashed through my mind. I never imagined it would end like this without closure.
As Mia watched me, she saw a glimpse of vulnerability I really showed. "I'm really sorry." She said softly, knowing the words couldn't take away the pain in my heart.
"It's okay," I managed to my voice crack with motion. "Thank you, Mia."
With a heavy heart, I turned around and walked away leaving the door closing softly behind me. I knew now more than ever that I had to find a way to move on, even if my thoughts continue to linger on a girl who captured my heart and slipped through my fingers.
As I headed back to my room, slamming the door behind me, I collapsed onto the bed, overwhelmed by a wall of emotions. Love and loss, intertwined my mind, leaving me, restless, and anxious. My leg rebelled involuntarily with each heartbeat.
Frustration boiled over, and I impulsively struck the side of my bed with my fist. Something soft and small fell from beneath my blanket.
Mr. Bubbles.
I picked it up, holding it in my hands, suddenly struck by clarity.
"It's not over," I muttered to myself, realisation, dawning.
I needed to find her.
I needed to make things right to tell her how much she truly meant to me. Without another thought, I grabbed my phone. Hastily dialling Mia's number, hoping against all that there was still time to catch for good before she left.
"Meet me downstairs in two," I blurted out urgently.
"What's going on? What's wrong?" she asked as her voice crackled with confusion.
"Just come!" I pleaded my own voice between the turmoil within
"Why?" She pressed sensing the urgency.
"Because I love her! Thats why!" I can felt the words hanging in the air, heavy with meaning and hope. It was the first time I'd spoken those words aloud. I had to get to her.
I grabbed Mr. Bubbles and got in the car with Mia. We drove for about half an hour until the traffic hit us. The rain had caused a massive jam.
"Fuck!" I said, slamming the steering wheel.
"There's too much traffic will never make it in time" Mia said.
"You know how to drive?"
"I work for an F1 team, of course, I do," she said, giving me a confused look.
"Good because you need to drive."
"What? Now?" she asked her eyes widening.
"Yes, now."
"Are you serious?"
"We're never gonna find her in time, if we're stuck in traffic like this." I said urgently.
