CHAPTER 8
The tension is on between Cole and Mikhs dahil sa nangyari sa locker room. Mikhs just focused on his game and avoided every distraction that may distract him from the training.
"All right boys listen up!" Coach Lim said.
All of the boys go for a huddle. Nasa magkabilang gilid naman ni Coach Lim si Cole at Mikhs.
"Alright so before anything else, alam kong kilala niyo na si Cole your newest co-captain. We will be working as a team again for another season and we cannot afford to lose! The national team is eyeing at us to represent the Philippines for the international games so we have to work with extra effort do you guys understand!?" Coach Lim said in loud voice.
"YES COACH!" The team said in unison.
"Okay go do your drills! Lim and Vergara stay." Coach Lim said para kausapin ang dalawa.
"What is it?" Mikhs said.
"Ano bang meron sa inyong dalawa ha?" Coach Lim said.
"Wala po coach it's just a small misunderstanding lang." Cole said.
"Small misunderstanding? Eh halos durugin ka na sa suntok neto ni Lim kanina eh." Coach Lim said.
"Wala yun coach, he was just having a rough day and I truly understand." Cole said.
Mikhs is looking blankly right now.
"Guys sa ayaw at sa gusto niyo. You'll be working together as a team! Magkakapatid kayo dito so you boys better start growing up or else wala tayong patutunguhan. Understood?" Coach Lim said.
"Yes coach." Sabay na sabi naman nung dalawa at tumakbo na papasok ng court.
The training session started and they are now gonna play a friendly five vs five match.
"Alright listen up. Montalbo, Vergara, Faustino, Co, and Reyes. Light team!" Coach said as he called the five man line up.
"Lim, Mendez, Navarro, Go, and Quiambao! Dark team." Coach said and blowed his whistle.
While preparing for the jump ball, maaga namang nabubuo agad ang tension between Cole and Mikhs.
"Bagay ka sa team mo pare, dark. Parang aura mo." Cole whispered habang nag gigitgitan ang mga braso nito.
"Oh come on we both know na light ka lang outside pero nasa loob ang kulo." Mikhs said.
The game has started at unang naka kuha ng bola si Mikhs. He's being guarded by Cole, he dribbled the ball and shoot at three at pumasok agad ito.
"Chamba." Cole said.
It's Cole's team turn for the basket, nasa harap niya ngayon si Mikhs and he is having a hard time getting a point dahil mas matangkad ng onti si Mikhs dito. Given the body size, mas malaki talaga si Mikhs.
Cole tried shooting the ball but Mikhs was able to block it.
"Nice try." Mikhs said and then runaway with the ball.
Habang tumatagal as mas lalong intense ang labanan. Pareho silang may gustong patunayan but neither of them wants to be behind.
Mikhs's teammate lost the ball and he tried to get it but Cole intentionally bumped him. Tumalsik naman ito dahil sa lakas ng pagkakabangga.
"FOUL!" Mikhs shouted.
"Anong foul?!" Cole defended himself.
"Obvious naman ah?! You intentionally pushed me!" Mikhs said as soon as he got up.
