MaxFew: I told him to smile more ... 🥺

Lando's POV:
Tuesday morning hits, and the first thing I do is check my phone. The moment I open my news feed, there it is: an article about Ana and Lucas. The headline reads, "Lucas Alegria on His Cozy Moments with Ana Villanueva: 'I'm Not Closing the Door on More Than Friendship.'"
My ears start ringing. He mentions they're old Grad School buddies and practically implies he's interested in her romantically. Anger and frustration are the only things I feel. Is this why she's been cautious with me?
I text Ana immediately:
Lando: Have you seen the article?
I stare at the screen, waiting for her reply, but minutes turn into hours. Nothing. The frustration festers, boiling just under the surface. I need to talk to someone who knows both of them, someone who can shed light on this whole situation. Carlos might have some answers, so I call him.
"Hey, Carlos," I say when he answers. "Did you see the article I sent you?"
"Yeah, I saw it," Carlos replies, his voice calm. "What's up, man?"
"What's the deal with Lucas? Is he really into Ana, or is this just media bullshit?" I'm pacing around my living room, my frustration mounting.
Carlos sighs. "Told you, I don't know him that much, but from the way he talks about it, he probably wants to stir things up a bit. But Ana's not the type who'll lead him on."
"I know, but it's still hard to see that in the news and not hear anything from her," I mutter, feeling helpless.
"Have you talked to her about it?" Carlos asks.
"I texted her, but she hasn't replied all day," I admit, running a hand through my hair. "It's driving me mad, mate."
"Isn't she at work? Look, I'll ask around with my mates in Madrid," Carlos offers. "See if I can get more information. For now, just try to stay calm."
