Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High? by Arctic Monkeys___________
The next morning when I woke up, still fully dressed in yesterday's clothes, I looked around the room and Farcus was nowhere in sight.
"Farcus? Where are you?" I looked at my door and it was open ajar. "Just great." I muttered, annoyed. I was not a morning person.
I got up, rubbing my head and yawning, and stumbled over to my door, and swung it all the way open.
Ashton's door was wide open, and he was sitting on his bed in black jeans and a Led Zeppelin t-shirt, with Farcus on his lap, scratching behind his ear. He was holding my cat!
"Um, excuse me. Get your own damn cat." I exclaimed, when I got to his room and stood in the door.
He looked up at me. "Oh, I'm sorry, your cat must've left your room and wandered into mine."
"Whatever." I growled. Ashton handed me Farcus, all while a smile played up on his lips. "Something funny?" I asked, glaring at him.
He shook his head, still smiling, and I wanted to slap that grin right off his face. Then he stood up and stood in front of me.
"What?" I asked.
"Well I kind of need to leave my room, and you're standing in the doorway." He chuckled. He grabbed keys from a hook on the wall and grasped them in his hand.
"Oh." I moved out of the way and started towards my room.
"Would you want to come?" His voice was quieter almost as if he was afraid to ask me.
"Where?" I gently put Farcus on the floor and he ran into my room and jumped on my bed where he laid down, lazily. I rolled my eyes and looked back at Ashton.
"I'm going to get myself some breakfast and then I'm going to find a music shop." He bit his bottom lip as he stared at me, waiting for a response.
I didn't want to go with him but I was planning on finding a music store anyways, for some new CD's. My love of music was stronger than my dislike of him.
I honestly didn't not like him but I had a feeling if I did try to get to know him -which I wouldn't- he would turn out to be just as annoying and cocky as I'd suspected.
"Fine, but this does not mean I want to become friends with you. I just need some new CD's." I went into my room and grabbed the doorknob.
"Okay. I'll be waiting outside." He walked up the stairs and as I watched him, he shook his head and chuckled, not seeing me.
I closed my door. "Jerk." I muttered.
I grabbed a pair of distressed blue jeans, a plain white flowy t-shirt and my favorite pair of white converse and pulled all that on. Afterwards, I pulled a brush through my hair. I didn't put on make-up as to not cause attention to myself.
The more plain and ugly I looked, the better.
Afterwards, I ran upstairs, and outside. Oddly, I was excited, which made me nervous. Ashton would never like you, a voice in my head said.
It's fine. I'm not going with him specifically for him, I'm going in hopes to find a music store.
Once I got outside, Ashton was sitting in the grass, leaning back against his hands and looking up at the clear blue sky.
There was not a cloud in sight, and I could tell from how warm the air was right now, that today was going to be scorching.
"Ready to go?" I asked from behind him.
He jumped up to his feet and rubbed his hands together. "Yes." Then he looked me from head to toe. "You look mighty fine."
I stared at him. I thought I had picked clothes that wouldn't show me off. "Will anybody notice me?" I asked.
He raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean by that? Are you a spy?" He chuckled.
"Never mind." I rolled my eyes. Obviously he didn't understand. I shouldn't have agreed to go with him.
"I said you looked fine and you do." He smiled. "You're quite beautiful, actually."
"Why, because I'm skinny? You only like skin and bones? Can't go after girls that are a little bit bigger? They have a personality too, you know!" I completely lost it on him right there on the front lawn.
He was a really good looking guy, who deserved someone better than me. I didn't want people hurting me again because of one guy. I had enough scars.
He stared at me in shock, not expecting me to flip out. "I was just stating a fact. I wasn't going after you."
"Whatever." I turned around and headed back to the house.
"Where are you going? I thought you were coming with me." He sounded sad.
"I changed my mind. I'm staying here."
"Look, I'm sorry!" He called because I was about to close the door now.
I didn't answer, just slammed it as hard as I could.
